The price!!! R420 per night with Breakfast. Included is free parking with security. Hotel has free WiFi although slow it is still included. This Manor is old, but we liked it. Felt like we travelled back in time. Bedding was clean percale cotton of high quality. Room had Airconditioning and Satelite Hotel bouquet DSTV. Hotel is by the harbour and convenietly located. Room although it had no view was quiet with a balcony. It was funished with antique furniture and the bed was of a good qual.
todo comentarios » The total experience, but primarily the rewriting of history. The colonial history of the hotel is abundantly clear in its incredible collection of wooden furniture, tap crowns, low door handles, etc. However, it reflects a poetic irony in the Madiba art collection and his inspiring words in his own handwriting, and the "new" queen of the castle halfway up the majestic stair case. I would love to bring my wife there, and will surely promote it among my professional peers. My wish is for the wai. The beautiful furniture and architecture and chandeliers were awesome we felt like we had stepped back in time to a better era when things were more dignified and civilised ... etc ... I think with a little bit of effort and financial input this place could easily become a 5* abode especially if they made an effort to go back in time and make everything look early 1900's ... I will definitely be staying there again next time I am in Durban. Thank you. The original victorian english architecture and detail of the building. The carpets staircase decor cabinets all the wood. Not all will appreciate it Room comfy and small all there that is needed for short stay. Dinner at rest was fabulous as was breakfast. Staff helpful and friendly.I liked the cleanliness of the hotel, the fact that every staff member when they meet you, they greet and the reception lady recommended a taxi driver that was respectful, knows the area and is able to advise on where and what to do.The staff was really helpful. This is a typical old type Hotel which we dont see very often anymore. Wow, I was amazed at the size of the room and the bathroom.And I was very impressed with the old type of furniture especially in the pause areas. Very interesting... Hotel security, outlook over harbour, ease of access, parking, friendliness of staff, good hot water, excellent beds, old world atmosphere of hotel, I would readily stay there again, excellent breakfast. The Service was great, the breakfast buffet was limited yet good, the reception staff were excellent, the room was spacious, clean and comfortable and lastly the parking was good, safe and secure. The air conditioned room was clean and comfortable. Right around a corner there is a 'People Mover' bus stop to move and look around the city. It was helpful for me as a solo traveller. I liked the comfort of the room, the air-conditioning was perfect, zero noise levels coming from outside, very clean and well maintained establishment, parking was secure and safe. Friendliness of staff. The breakfast was really nice. The spacious comfotable room with everything I needed. A really ncy economic place 2 stay. The rooms were neat, the staff very friendly and the breakfast was very nice. I would definately recommend this place to my friends and family. The hotel is super when it comes to hospitality & the Habour view is superb @ Night. I always use Durban manor for my holidays every year. Loved the Staff, the meals were great and wholesome. The history was awesome. The place takes you back in time. The facilities were great. This is the hotel to be while in Durban. Great place wonderful manager and sweet staffers. Wld really love to come again and again. i would like to see the hotel having a braai facililties, ie braai stand so that we can able to braai inside the hotel. The staff is friendly and I experienced a very warm welcome. Breakfast and parking is secure, and again it was close to Durban hall where 2013 Comrades started,. everything was perfect, had no problem whatsoever, staff were friendly and the rooms are beautiful. Staying in town and living the car in a safe place for shoppling since parking is a problem. We had a great time at durban manor hotel,it was lovely ,the staff was freindly ,keep it up. I loved the outside seating area, aswell as the whole set up of the hotel. Good room and was near to my starting line up for comrades marathon. Friendly helpfull staff. Clean rooms. Good breakfast. close to shops, to town, to beach and to the station. The atmosphere was great. Felt i was back in 1930's. I liked the service, staff friendly and breakfast. The receptionist was efficient and quick. We felt sorry for the old lady. The hotel is great, but water was dripping from taps in toilets on the ground floor. Not really a negative, but just thinking of the cost to the hotel for water usage. Otherwise it was a BARGAIN. I definitely did not like the mosquito's ... grin ... but nothing a can of doom could not solve ... Staff did not understand that 2 persons in a room each require a bath towel, they kept giving 1 bath and 1 hand towel. One light was not working and we had to keep bathroom light with extracter fan on. 2 bedlamps not adaptors for 2 point, we asked and got 1. Passage light came throught very too small curtains and was a real irritant. Get rid of modern drawings and decor.nothing. Lack of feeling of security around city. Difficulty to find road maps of city, no tourism information in hotel, no shopping i,nformation,. My initial room was too small, there was no room to walk around the bed and it had no bar fridge. The elevator needs servicing. Does not cater for Halaal. The old elevator was a bit scary but it was quite fascinating for me and... the satellite tv reception was not very good. The elevator in the building is a bit scary , when arriving on the correct floor it jerks dangerously. My credit card was pre- authorised debited full hotel stay price. And again when I got 2 the hotel still paid the same amount. None. the hot water was a bit problem on sunday morning at around 08h30 as we were about to checkout. I didnt like the lifts at all at first I didnt understand how to operate them maybe you can think of upgrading them. 1.My room was not spacious/too small. 2.No aircondition but noisy fan 3.Passage light was entering our room at night. Only de lift taking u To Your Rooms please do something about It but the rest was fantastic. Restaurant in evenings took very long and long... And long Did not stock the bar every day. We ran out of our favourite drink on day one and they never stock again until we left. The showers needs to be upgraded, and please change the street name on your invoice to the new street name, Margaret Mcgadi street and will it be possible if you can put a big sign on your gate so that people dont get lost. Nothing. I didn't like the fact that my mobile phone hardly had any network coverage when I was in the room. The waiters need to have urgency in delivery of service. Nothing. My room had old furniture, old bath tube, most of the things were old except TV. A little bit darkat night. the building needs some painting on the outside. The room was cold if the can be heaters also the light outside disturbs when sleeping if itcan switched off after hours. The one room didnt have a mini fridge. Our room the airconditioner was not working. 1.Room needs more mirrors 2.No hot water in the evening 3.?closing time ,the conference had evening events as well 4.The first half of my accomodation fee was proceeded through to booking .com and when I arrived at the hotel I paid the balance via may debit card ,later I received a call from durban manor asking me to fill in a document saying that Its proof that I allowed them to deduct money from my CREDIT CARD,I need to understand why. There was a problem with the bathroom light, it was not working. I bit hard to find. your check out time is horrible. How can smbdy be asked to check from hotel by 10:am? This is incredible. i have traveled round the world, is my first in my entire life that i was asked to check out by 10am. Pls, endeavor to do smth about it otherwise, smbdy like me might not consider coming back there irrespective of all the nice treatment i got while staying there. And i can only recommend smbdy if your check out time is being modified. Not that there is anything specific that I didn't like, just a suggestion that if they could make their bar more entertaining. Add more ciders that most ppl drink and cocktails. Carpets need changing in reception. Front desk staff attitude.Room tv remote not there and asked few times and promised one but it never happened.They also deducted money on my account and tell me they do not see it n asked me to mail them bank statement. slow pace of hot water and parking area. Floor mat smell sometimes.everything was good. My room did not have a fridge, I requested for a fridge when I booked in and I left without having received it.
