Everyone was extremely friendly just as expected from true Japanese place. A person from the ryokan met us halfway from the station, showed the way and helped with the luggage, though we have not even told ryokan about the time we plan to arrive! I believe those guys patrol the area each time a train arrives just in case.

I have been to japan 47 times and I really loved staying at this hotel.
We had 4 nights at half board (meaning breakfast and dinner is included
in the price) The staff were really friendly and not afraid to engage
with us even though we had little Japanese and their English was mostly
job specific. Our room was Japanese tatami mats and really big. The beds
were put out at night while we had dinner. The food at breakfast and
dinner was totally awesome and very Japanese with sashimi and sukiyaki

As soon as I stepped into the Hotel I was amazed by the decor and
traditional interior design. A staff member said I couldn't check
in before 3pm (it was 12.30pm) but he said I could leave my bag there.
So I left the building and went for my excursion to the Shirakawa-Go
Unesco Village and came back around 7pm and he kindly checked me in.

I really like the onsen in Takayama Ouan. They have 3 private onsen to choose. So if you don't want to go to public onsen they've other option. The breakfast is great and a lot of choices. My family really enjoyed the breakfast. Location is good also close to the train station. You can just walked for 5 minutes to the hotel from the station.

Very nice room and quite large by Japanese standards and the hotel is in a great town full of historic buildings and beautiful scenery. The hotel is new and well maintained. The staff are helpful. The surrounding area has great eateries and coffee- try the coffee at he place next to K's House - friendly people, good homemade food. And go to the Jazz Bar- truly great.

Great location- only a short walk to the old town and morning markets. Plenty of great places to eat in the surrounding streets. The onsen on site was a real treat! The staff is nice and friendly. There was a receptionist that worked during the evening hours, her English was good and she was really helpful! Whenever I had a question or needed something she would even go out of her way to help me.

The room was really nice, a little old fashioned, but was more than adequate. We had a view of the mountains and loads of greenery. I would have to say that the best part of the hotel, would be their Onsen. The onsen is located inside the hotel, it had an indoor and outdoor onsen, the Onsen was extremely clean and well stocked. The hotel also provided a shuttle bus service to and fro from the hotel, morning market and train station. It was really convenient. The staff were all incredibly friend

Great location stones throw from station. Good breakfast included. Comfortable room , long bath. Takayama, beautiful walks down old streets. Recommend the Heritage houses and pathway walk that takes you rounds the back of town past many small shrines ans along to the park.nice shops to buy gifts.taste of traditional Japan.

The housekeeper lady was extremely warm, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable of the city and the attractions. She made you feel very at home. My family and I stayed in Japan for 7 years as the company country president and I aware of what is good standard in Japan.
