Hotel like stay in the house. Owner very friendly and very kind even though they cannot speak English so much. When we ask for recommend restaurent, they are not just show us but bring we there. Stay on Japanese futon is very comfort.

Wi-fi signal not too good. Stay in the room which have to bath at japanese style share bathroom (separate man/woman) need to be nude. Toilet have one modern style and another one is japanese old style which so difficult to sit on knee.

This is a well run cozy traditional Japanese-style hotel. Clean and surprisingly quiet tatami-floor rooms and two well-kept onsen (traditional hot baths) are excellent for relaxation. This is not a luxurious hotel but it is a great value for money for those wanting traditional experience.

This ryokan is well run and very comfortable. The experience of staying in Japanese style accommodation rather than western-style hotels was invaluable and highly enjoyable. The (public) bath and shower was amazing after a hot day sightseeing, more so that I had it to myself.

Friendly and helpful owner, location right next to takayama most popular temple, and within a few minutes walk to the old town. Strong wifi signal and speed.

Tatami quite old and its small pieces might attach to your belongings

Great location close to train station and tons of shopping and great eating places. Walking distance to the train station. Quiet clean cordial staff. We went with the private bath in our room.

Good location, decent beds, the onsen, good and fast wireless, good size ensuite bathroom.

Windows had no curtains or shutters, very light in room early in the morning. Two onsen, one for men, one for women, the one for men was tiny, barely fit two people. No table or chairs in room, no other sitting corner in house.

We staid for 1 night in a spacious family room and slept on tatami beds. We did not make use of the dining option. The landlady brought special small size yukatan for the kids. They loved it.

no options to sit comfortably outside the room. bathroom was charged in addition and mandatory

- Location good : 6 min walk (with big luggage) to JR Takayama - Reasonable price

- No elevator for luggage : not recommend for those who have big bags or have leg/back illness.

they charge me hot spring bath which i didnt even using it! Not reasonable..

Noisy room on the street with no curtains. Having to go down a flight on stairs to use the bathroom.
