The best asset of this hotel is the staff who were all very friendly and helpful. Our room was very well-appointed and very comfortable. We left the guys at home and did a sister trip across Italy, which commenced in Naples. This classy five star hotel was a fabulous way to deal with jet lag! The Grande Hotel Vesuvio is truly grand! It is an elegant top of the
line hotel with a friendly and helpful staff. We were upgraded to a
suite upon arrival and had two large rooms beautifully furnished. They
supply their guests with comfy terry robes and slippers and nice
toiletries. Wi fi was free. The rooms are kept very clean also. We had a
balcony on the front of the hotel and looked out on the waterfront with
its boats, a castle that is lit at night, and Vesuvius looming in the

After having spent time in Rome and the mountains of Italy, Naples is completely different. It's more dirty than the other cities we visited in Italy but the people are very warm and welcoming. Heed the warnings and do not travel with expensive jewelry. The scenery from the windows with a view of the port are beautiful.

The reception moved us to a bigger apartment than what we had booked and we were very happy about this.
