I had a very pleasant stay at Hotel Am Rothenbaum. The hotel is in an attractive neighborhood and right opposite the Hallerstrasse subway station, which is one stop from the Dammtor regional train station (much nicer than the Hauptbahnhof main station in Hamburg). 100% friendly and helpful staff. The location is the best - close to the metro station, a supermarket, multiple cafes and restaurants around. Wi Fi working fast and really everywhere at the hotel. A complimentary glass of wine upon arrival was a nice surprise.

Each room was decorated in a different style, so not a homogenised look. There was a kitchen with tea, coffee, biscuits, also a pleasant balcony overlooking the inner garden for guests to use.
