The staff were very friendly and one staff member spoke five languages! The restaurant downstairs was traditional and the food inexpensive. Breakfast was also traditional: pastry, white cheese, home made jam and coffee. Yum! -

The hot tub and sun terrace was a superb addition. Room was clean and comfortable. Lovely shower/bathroom. Attentive staff. Location is good, but then Melnik is so tiny that any location is probably good. -
Very friendly personnel, they will make anything to make you feel comfortable. Perfect location. Designed with attention to detail.

We spent one night in Melnik, Bulgaria and picked the Chavkova House. This was an excellent pick; the rooms are roomy, clean and tidy. We are a family of 3 (small children), and selected the junior suite. This room was a perfect fit for our family. The staff is friendly, informative and speaks good English. We also has lunch and breakfast (include in the room), everything was wonderful.

We had a very nice junior suite which was very spacious and well turned out. Would love to be there in winter to have tried out the fabulous fire place in our room. The staff were very helpful and able to speak with us in English as our Bulgarian is nil. We ate in the restaurant for dinner which was very nice, food well prepared and tasting great

The staff and the location were perfect. I can only recommend this hotel. If you decide to go there, don't bother to eat at any other place, the restaurant is brilliant. Tip: order the red housewine with your dinner, it's really good.

This old hotel has been very well renovated, and it would be dificult to find fault with it.
There are lots of steps to get up to reception, which would normally not have been a problem, but between booking and arriving I broke a bone in my foot, so had a bit of a struggle climbing all stairs with crutches, although this was no fault of the hotel,

Excellent mix of new (renovated facilities) and old (funky, socialist-era folk motifs). Just the right combination for Melnik. Situated just above Melnik for awesome views of the area. We also visited Villa Melnik winery - a must stop for wine lovers.
