I love the feel of it - just like grandma's
house. I first went to this motel when the children were at boarding school. They loved it too and everyone was so friendly. Parking and a buffet breakfast is also good and a wine in one of the lounges downstairs is a great end to shopping in Queen street. You can tell I'm from the bush. -

We arrived at the hotel before check-in time, but had no problem getting to our room. When we got to our room one of the builders who was helping to renovate the hotel said that we were unable to get into our room - so we got an upgrade to a family room for free! The staff we very apologetic. Our room was good as we were in a section on our own, rarely bumped into anyone at the shared bathroom. The TV has a great choice of channels. Unusual style for a hotel, but once settled in just so friendly, all staff and other guests greet each other so easily. Sitting in the sun outside our room reading the papers was a lovely experience. This hotel is so beautiful. It is a short taxi or bus ride from Manly and just really peaceful. The rooms are gorgeous. We had an amazing view of Sydney. The staff were so lovely, offered us a lift to the station the next day. We ate at the restaurant, also great. Amazing history to the place, like staying at a museum.
