Our 2nd stay at the Grand within 2 weeks which was just as good as the first. They picked us up at the airport, check in was efficient & easy we were shown to our beautiful spacious room which overlooked the city streets. The bed was comfy, the breakfast was great a good variety to suit all people. The location is great & close to good restaurants to eat at. Close to the shopping district & close enough to major sight seeing points. I cannot fault the is hotel & would highly rec.
all reviews » I like the old world charm and heritage and stately feel of the ancient wing. The beds were very comfortable and my family had a sound sleep. I appreciated the shoe shine service, especially after visiting the Cuci tunnels! The breakfast was of plentiful variety and of good taste. The location was excellent, within walking distance of many shops and places of interest, and taxis were easily accessible. Check out was smooth and the counter staff were accommodating by keeping our luggage before w. We were very pleasantly surprised when we stepped into the cool, calm and light-filled lobby. A brilliant location on dong Khoi in district one. My aunt and I are keen walkers and found the location excellent. The breakfast, with its lovely mix of eastern and western food truly set us up well for the day! The decor was true to the 1930's era without being over the top! I loved the beds and down filled pillows. Value for money and more at the Grand Hotel!. the service is great...It seems there is no limit to the help they will give you..The breakfast is the best.This hotel is very central and there are plenty of taxis available for you to use..There are also a lot of shops to look at and at a reasonable price.It is close to the river which has a nice coffee shop should you enjoy vietnamese coffee All and all just a great place to stay.The beds are really comfotable and they are always upgrading this hotel. It was beautiful but took up to 4 hours journey time each way by bus!. Our stay @ was a bit of luxury after a 3 week motorbike trip through Vietnam & it satisfied all our needs. Fantastic bed, lovely bathroom, all very clean. It was my birthday during our stay & the hotel gave me cake & flowers, a very nice touch. Also in a great location in the city. The room was lovely with complimentary fruit which was a lovely touch. The staff were all very friendly, polite and helpful. I was due to go on a trip by moped and my guide forgot my helmet but the staff all rallied and found a helmet I could borrow. The food was great at breakfast. The hotel was beautifully presented. The room was spacious and well appointed with beautiful furnishings and the bedding was very comfortable. The pool area was lovely The location was within walking distance of many of the sights.I would definitely stay there again. Roof top bar/restaurant is excellent great views and the supervisor is brilliant, the hotel is lovely though the pool area is too small, but that cant be helped really. All staff were very attentive. 8th stay in HCMC this is the best hotel so far and we will go back. As I stayed at the old building and I enjoyed the classic European room. It was so quiet at the time of sleeping and I could sleep very well. At the time of breakfast, there are many dishes and everybody could take various different foods. The pool was a lovely to spend time relaxing beside after walking in the heat and humidity of the streets and market shopping. Nicely decorated room, quiet, clean and cool. Yje Grand is simply lovely it has good staff that are helpful & friendly. The location in HCMC is great close to everything. At the time of checking-out, it took a lots of time for checking the room even if I did not take any mini bar service....I Would recommend to study the quick checking out system by the advanced hotels in the world. Our only complaint is with front desk service staff. We've stayed at this hotel twice in past 7 months and both times were charged for room cost on arrival and then again on departure. These "double charges" were eventually refunded -- but it takes weeks of follow up with hotel and credit card vompany.. Although it was perfectly clean some things in the room (old part of the hotel) were a bit worn. I think it's better to book in the new part . As using 5star hotels over the past 21 years in my business capacity and booking rooms at last minute was given a recently renovated room which was excellent ... The room next to mine was being renovated! Considerable noise which did not bother me on this particular atrip as not on business or (jetlag). the pool was a bit small and there wasn't enough sunbeds. Also the service is poor near the pool, you have to ask for your beach towel... Found no weaknesses. The coffee. Nothing in particular. nothing!. Not applicable. Very noisy maids in the morning they need turn off their pagers. Staff at pool bar rather slow and ineffective. Had to keep finding them and there were very few clients. There is nothing to complain. Air con didn't work properly initially but was fixed when reported. Nothing,all good. It is a bit more expensive than others hotels. Nothing to say. Nothing. No issues. Some staff members were a bit difficult to understand when speaking english. Despite a confirmation from the hotel of an amendment to our original room booking and later (on e-mail correspondence) that we would be picked up from Saigon airport, they did not show up. Then, on our arrival at the hotel by taxi from the airport, the reception staff insisted that they had no record of our reservation! Furthermore, the reception supervisor was surly and unpleasant in the extreme!. breakfast experience was a little hectic, with mostly full tables and coffee / tea staff plus eggs and noodle counter working hard to keep up. Pool area is hidden of sunlight in the afternoon. Bread rolls below standard Breakfast sausages were poor-they were frankfurts not sausages(by Australian stds) Coffee was undrinkable Pool should be salt water. Pebbles around pool were dangerous to walk on. TV had a voice lag.
