Forget the reviews about how it takes a long time to get anywhere - plot courses of shortest distances on the map they give you and only use tram / boat for novelty. Awesome bridges and islands around lagoon tend to be shortest route(s). Staff and service best I've ever seen. They all live in Hawaii - they're happy! Track charges during stay by keeping a note of bills along the way. It isn't that expensive - and anyway you're in Hawaii!.
all reviews » The place is beautiful! It really is quite impressive. Lots of things to do. You really don't ever even have to leave the resort. But if you want to one of my favorite beaches Hapuna is right up the road. I also really liked the products they had in their bathroom so much so I bought some to take home with me. The hotel has been designed by Disney imagineers, so that is the quality of the grounds. I thought it was amazing. They upgraded our room for our anniversary and we had a beautiful view of the grounds and the ocean. Beds were comfortable and room was clean. It's a luxury resort: pampered all the way, with comfy rooms, many pools, restaurants, shops and even art in a relaxed setting. The property was beautiful. The pools and facilities and everything were spectacular. Great views from everywhere. Beatitful resort Lagoon is awesome for snorkling Wifi around lagoon and pool Close to a mall. - beautiful hotel and ocean view room - loving swimming pools. The grounds the activities the staff fabulous place to stay. The hotel is just like a Disneyland. Good view , nice room ,good price. Great views, beaches, relaxing. Spa was excellent. Everything !. The grounds were beautiful. very nice facility. Dolphin quest. I actually only liked the lagoon, I have stayed at many places and this is by far the worst place that I have stayed at paying over 500 per night for a room ... The 800 per night was defiantly not worth it ... The pool is not heated ... The room said it had a partial view of the dolphins/0cean it had a view of tennis courts and a parking lot .... I have a place in kona and thought it would be cool to give the kids a change of pace stayed for 2 nights spent $2,200 hundred bucks and got $160 buck. The largest pool and associated bars were closed for maintenance. The Closed Kona pool looked great and I regretted not being able to use it. Having said that, it was made clear on their website that this was the case before I booked. The place was massive. Took forever to get any where. There were a lot of little extra charges. $25 Resort Fee. $17 per day self parking fee. $14 per day per device for wireless. And then out coffee machine wasn't working and we called to get a replacement which was prompt but the replacement was also broken and dirty. Kinda gave up after that. Food & drink are very overpriced for the quality and pool bars close super early. Be aware that parking is $17/day and resort fees are $25/day. Well, it's a luxury resort. Plus, they charge you for everything. Note in particular the $25/day resort charge for Wifi and such that is automatically added to your bill. If your room is in the Ocean Tower, it's a good 10 minute walk to get to the lobby. They have boats that will take you and a train shuttle that will take you, but it involves waiting for it to come. If you don't want to wait, you're looking at a 10-15 minute walk, quite far considering it's just to get to your room - you might do this 3,4,5 times a day. Hotel is way to big Restaurants too expensive for what u get. - shopping shuttle takes us 45mins to wait - expensive food. A drive to anywhere. The basin for the dolphins is too small for them to swim properly. Due to we arrived quite late, there were no staff around the beach tower, it was not easy to find our room. $12.00 for a small glass of bad wine. We were told our room was available at 10:30 am however we were not able to check in till after 4:00 pm. They said they were busy. Ended up sitting in lobby. Another couple were with had the same experience. Only the length one must. Walk to get to rooms and other activities. It was expensive to eat there. out in the middle of nowhere. Not at all accommodating for family members with special needs/ handicap issues. Well lets just say the only thing I liked was the lagoon for 3 hours over 2 days... The room was nothing like it was described as no view of dolphins or ocean ... The room itself didn't even resemble the picture from the website ... For 2200 hundred bucks I would have rather paid 160 got a day pass and stayed somewhere else.
