What people say
The location was very quiet, except for the frogs in the lily pond outside our window! We actually kept our window open so we could hear them. It was close to the freeway, but we heard no freeway noise. Breakfasts were great, and complimentary coffee and an assortment of teas were available 24 hours.
Everything was next to perfect! Fresh chocolate chip cookies at the
front counter were a favorite of ours when we checked in after a long
road trip! Also the amenities were awesome. We loved having the small
kitchenette where we could prepare the dinner we had packed.all reviews »
The night clerk was so helpful and friendly and made my finding the
place and checking in process much easier than it could have been. He
went out of his way to be nice. The housekeeper who took care of my room
did a fantastic job and was very friendly and courteous.
The accommodations were very nice. Everyone was friendly. Steve was very helpful when I needed to make reservations for a stay at the hotel for the wedding of my granddaughter coming up in a couple months. I asked for no "Down" bedding and there was none. :o).
It was a nice setting nestled amongst the native trees. Very pretty setting. It was also very close to the Washington State University-Vancouver campus. I was there for 3 weeks and the staff and facility were great.
It was quiet, the continental breakfast was more than you would expect and very good. We highly recommend this hotel and will definitely use it again when we are in the area. It deserves a 5 star for sure.
We enjoy the tower suites, and always upgrade whenever possible. We
often need to check in early, and staff members have been great about
trying to help us and our schedule.
Great price, very comfortable, and helpful helpful staff! My son forgot
his phone charger and the lady at the front desk gave him one! Also, the
breakfast was great!.
Very nice hotel for the money- good breakfast, friendly staff, clean comfortable rooms. Pool and hot tub were open 24 hours, which was nice after an evening out.
24 hour pool and exercise room. Expanded continental breakfast. Clean. Friendly helpful staff. Great value for the money.
It was clean, quiet, and comfortable. I liked having dishes and utensils if we needed them.
The hotel is clean and in a good location. Beds were very firm which I like. Felt safe.
Very friendly front desk, clean rooms and quite a nice continental breakfast.
The room was very clean. Our stay was short, but we were very comfortable.
Was is a good location. Was clean rooms and nice beds. Staff was nice.
The beds were comfortable and there was ample room for luggage, etc.
The service was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was fair, not great.
Our desk clerk was an excellent host !!
An A+ for Gateway Inn.
Breakfast was fantastic! 24 hour hot tub and pool was great.
They have a wonderfully accommodating front desk .
convenient, clean close to freeway and shopping.
Very comfortable and fair price.
We like using the Tower Suite.
Extremely friendly staff.
Quiet and friendly.
Nice shower.
I am a repeat visitor to this lodging it was a bit dissappointing their
were many maintance issues we noticed a lot of ware and tear pool and
hot tub were in need of attention walls with tears in loung hallway gave
a bad impression . This was our first choice in the past it once had
class and charm now it is in need of care I hope ,it will shine once
more also fountain is not working as you enter the front of bldg . Sadly
you only have one trip to make a first impression.
The staff kept our two rooms close together, which was great. The air
conditioner worked great, maybe a little too well! Beds were
comfortable.
Except the carpet is old and a little bit dirty, other facilities are good. The bed is comfortable.Good for family travelling.
Location worked out
Able to be near friends in another room
Cont... Breakfast.
Good freeway access and several restaurants nearby.
Free wifi
Quiet location.
The only thing I can say is the location was good for what we were
there for.
Good location for going to a concert at the fairgrounds.
The room was a little cold, and the heater didnt work quite as quickly
as we would have liked...but that's just nit picking.
There was a gray spot about 6 inches round on the sheet on one bed that looked like something had leaked on the bedding. There was no refrigerator in the room. That surprised me. The hand soap furnished in the bathroom was tiny. We had 4 people in the room and it was almost not enough for us!.
It was not a Holiday Inn Express yet. Hated not getting my Priority Club points.
The booking process is awful when done by telephone. The online system
seems to work. When we used to book directly with the hotel staff, we
were served better.
Grounds/patio weren't taken care of...all the planters in front
and on patio were full of dead plants. Also, the hot tub by the swimming
pool broke and was unusable our second night.
Only 1 elevator and it was slow. The stairs were not convenient.
We didn't stay long enough to find anything bad.
Petty issues: T.V. remote didn't very well, even after batteries were replaced. And, there were no dirry clothes bags in the rooms, which I found odd.
there was no refrigerator in our room, even though it said that there would be. Also we had a young child with us and we asked for a first floor room but they put us right at the busy place.
I wished there was hot chocolate instead of just coffee at breakfast and I would have liked a luggage rack or two for our room.
The pool was too cold. Even my 5 year old wouldn't get in.
No fridges or microwaves in rooms.
no microwave or mini fridge in the rooms.
Nothing.
Due to a change over to a hotel chain there was no furniture, refrig. or microwave in the room.
No ref. in units.
Unable to access cable channels: the info sheet had not been updated,
thus has inaccurate info on it.
Per the website I thought that there were fridge & microwaves in every room. Not. Only in the king suites which were not set up for a family of 4 with older children. They were out of any extra fridges for the weekend. That was one of the reasons we booked with this hotel. When traveling with family for a sports weekend those two items are a must.
Bummed that the hot tub was closed. The pool was definitely too cold
for an indoor pool. Not that we wanted to watch much, but our tv had
no channels.
Didn't seem very clean
Rooms seemed outdated
Older tv's
Elevator broke a couple times
Hot tub out of order
Not a real friendly host
Not a cheerful feel with staff.
No refrigerator in room. Pillows feel lumpy.
Pool and spa not working,
exercise equipment old and in need of adjustment. The exercise room also smell of cleaner and remote for t.v. not working.
Location is in NE Vancouver, further away from Portland, Or.
Breakfast ends at 9:30 am instead of 10:00 am.
Light bulb in floor lamp not replaced or working.
The tv was broken, we called the front desk and no one would answer so
we left a message and no one ever got back to us. We had to unplug the
tv so we could sleep. When we checked out and told them about what
happened all they did was say sorry but was the rest of your stay ok?
Also the faucet in the shower didn't work right so taking a shower
was quite the task.
Pool was green, beds where hard. $15 pet fee is crazy. The La Quinta is
two blocks away and they offer pets free. They give dog treats and bags
free. The La Quinta is a better stay. Nice hotel, better breakfast,
better rooms and pool. To top it off it was cheaper.
