There was nothing that I did not like. The two-story Plinko board with
soccer balls, the leisure room in the loft, the design - from the metal
dog to the wall of convicts - all perfect. The staff was friendly,
knowledgable, and enthusiastic about their hotel. Their location is
perfect - close enough to Union Square to enjoy the nightlife, but far
enough away to avoid the noise; the bart is half a block away and
provides access to the entire city. I highly recommend this hotel.

Firstly the location is great. You are right at the start of the cable car which you can take over to fisherman's wharf. Room had been updated sympathetically and although not large by US standards, you could definately swing a cat if that was your thing. Such a great location and great welcome from staff - it is the little touches like happy hour free drink and light breakfasts for all guests that make this place so special . This is my second stay in less than 6 months. You can't beat the price and the location. There is a parking garage right next door with super overnight rates. It was a no frills hotel but comfortable for the most part. The shower was great - roomy, plenty of hot water. Central location adjacent to parking lot, a few blocks from BART. The fridge worked well. Never tried the microwave.
