The Christmas decorations were like none others--outstanding. The entire property was set for the holiday season--quite beautiful. The staff bent over backward to assure our stay was every thing we had hoped it would be.

Staff was excellent. All very friendly

Rooms were not in the theme of the Victorian hotel. The modern theme didn't work. It was under construction in the lobby and smelled terrible of paint and wood stain.Bath mat was frayed and looked like it was from a garage sale. Towels were also worn. It took 15 minutes to get hot water in our room. Paying $550 a night was, I was expecting more.I will never stay there again.

My husband and I were celebrating our silver wedding and booked 3 nights at the hotel,we loved every minute of our stay. The hotel was amazing,the location was fabulous and we just loved to watch the sunset on the beach. We hope to return soon,and will plan a longer stay next time,thank you.

excellent location (full ocean view in California Cabbanas with own small patio)

hard to find rooms if you are not located in the main building (lack of signs), very high price compared to the level of the room - just for excellent location and history

Wonderful facilities and choice thereof, friendly staff with excellent food and service

US Marine training base is near, so helicopters fly around noisily a lot and Marines train (and shout) on beach in the morning. Didn't spoil the holiday though!

Beautiful historic hotel. Adult pool. Restaurants and stores on site. Right on the beach, walk a few minutes to the ocean.

In general, probably too costly. Room rates are too high. Extra fees add at least 20% on. For $500 a night, why I am I also paying a "resort fee"? Parking at $43 a night is ridiculous. Staff often friendly but too irreverent and not service oriented. Could be cleaner. Difficult to get around the grounds.

The location was just perfect. The decked area overlooking the beach was heaven!

Being on the beach

Not having a makeup mirror in bath. All holiday inns have one. Having a guest for dinner in the hotel and I learned they had to pay 25 dollars to park.

relaxation and the waterfront

the staff of the 1500 and especially the hostesses were very unfriendly,rude and need some training on dealing with the public. every other member group of the staff were outstanding.

All the accomdations that the hotel provides. That the hotel provided shopping, restaurants, beachside access, and fabulous views from the restaurant,express check- out and valet.

Valet was very pricey than other places, the restaurant was very expensive for what you were given at the 1500 Ocean restaurant , there was bees flying around us right by our heads when we were on our balcony having a glass of wine vey unpleasant.

The location. Beautiful and the weather was perfect. Lovely hotel and accomodations. Lots of shops and restaurants in walking distance

A lot of hidden charges. Posted internet price was not what we were charged. Was a lot more.

The hotel beach was packed as was the hotel. Unacceptable to pay that peice for a price on a parking wuth car alarms going off all the time. Also unacceptable to have to pay 40 dol a say for parking and to gave to queue 40m for breakfast. Way overrated.
