Easy to get to and friendly hosts. The room was super clean and comfortable. Parking was secure and right outside our door. We even left a luggage carrier with no worries or problems. A short ride (10 minutes) delivered us to you goal, the Mercado. The breakfast was filling and plentiful with a friendly attendant. Price was great and added to the very positive experience. We will definitively stay again on our next trip to San Antonio as well as share our experience with friends and family.
all reviews » My personal experience had to do with leaving hotel after check out to catch flight home. The front desk called a couple times for me a cab, but none showed up. So the Econolodge maintainance guy offered to take me in his personal car! I gladly gave him $30 for his help and this action definitely made me believe that the staff can make or break someone's outlook of an establishment. Loved the area, close to everything. The hotel personnal were awesome and very freindly. The room was confortable and clean. During the night we were able to have a great rest. The bed was very soft with clean sheets. Nice atmosphere. This was a family trip and this Econo-lidge was perfect. There were lots of family's around, the hotel was clean, the lobby it homey and pretty, the staff extremely friendly. I would definitely stay here again. The beds were very comfortable and the shower was the best, lots of pressure and hot water. The room was very clean. The staff were friendly. We would stay there again. Really clean and right off the interstate, but not loud. Gas station, Whataburger, and BBQ joint all across the street. Easy for a traveller. The rooms were clean. Breakfast was good. Forgot my toothpaste I was able to get some at the front desk at no charge. I would stay here again. The beds were awesome really clean. The price is what my husband liked..... Great location to downtown just a couple miles away. We were there only overnight and did some sightseeing. It was within our budget and worked out very well. Room was very clean and smell clean. The only other thing I can think of was the map of San Antonio given to us by the front desk. It was confusing at best and not very accurate. I bought a city map to use next time. Other than that minor bit of confusion, I can't think of anything that could be changed to make the visit better. The breakfast, I believe there should have been a variety of choices. The apples looked old and sad looking. Too much eggs, maybe ham and saugage would had been a good add on. Finaly, one of the egg trays had too much water so the eggs were "gooy". Upon entering the room it smelled as though it had been closed up for awhile. We turned the a/c on. It seemed to help.The toilet wouldn't flush.Thankfully the housekeeping was only a few doors down from ours. I asked for a plunger. She got one right away. It was a little expensive but it was worth it. The rooms may be cleaner. Breakfast was below average. nthing. Very poor wifi. No dislikes. Location was just okay, not walking distance to major attractions. It could have soda and things to eat coin machines. I have no complain everything was excellent. not very good soap. We were there 3 days, my husband is handicapped and the cleaning girls parked right in front of the motel rooms where the paying guests should be parking. all 3 days we watched when they got off work....i went and moved the car to where they were parked. Very disappointed. The swimming pool was dirty with bugs. I paid for my room in advance | I still have a pending charge on my credit card 2 days after check out... Internet service was down from about 8 pm until the next morning. I reported the light bulb being out in restroom and never replaced.had to use heat lamp for light.but overall great. The wifi didn't work and I didnt get an assistance after calling the front desk. The room was very musty and smelled of mould; only feather pillows - not good if you are allergic to feathers; wi-fi didn't work in our room (#131) apparently because it is on a corner of the building; skimpy breakfast;. Small outdoor swimming pool!. The morning front desk staff was not helpful at all. Esmerelda in particular was very uncourteous. The pool was not open on time and she just kept telling us "in ten minutes" for almost an hour. We wasted valuable vacation time that could have been spent elsewhere. We will never stay at this location again. Shower not so great. Staff did not feel very welcoming. One of the lights in our room didn't work. First day there was no breakfast. Second day the toilet was plugged. As a former plumbing assistant I would recommend a good clean out of the system. I had to get a plunger to get the toilet to work. House keeping was unavailable. Could you some renovation. didn't like light from outside in the room during night time- there was no privacy due to the light from outside. Need thick curtain to ward off light from outside in the night time. Bed was terrible. They did not have any record of our booking from letsbookhotel.com on our arrival after a 12 hour drive from Mexico. They wanted to say they had no rooms but after refusing to accept that, they offered us a room but not a king size bed as we had previously booked. Not too impressed. Breakfast was nothing special. the bed was hard as a rock, towels were stained. the breakfast bar was a mess. only one griddle and a long long line for breakfast. Noisy. Bath room to old They do not take care of things an the rooms it's not good . Need to fix things Take to long at front deask to help you. My toilet overflowed as soon as we got there. They didn't want to move us until I threatened to take action for a full refund. Then, the bathroom light didn't work. The front desk was not helpful and made it seem like they were being bothered when I called. And the housekeeping manager was rude and also seemed to be bothered when she had to do her job. The rooms are very atiquated, the bathrooms are dirty and sheet rock needs to be replaced. The towels needs to be replaced as they are very old and discolored. Service was awful. Room wasn't clean, was not pleasant at all. The bug bites. The tiles, paint and wall paper pealing off the walls. But, mostly, the bug bites.
