My wife and I have just returned from a 3 week touring vacation of southern states in the U.S. 1 night of which we spent at the Fairfield Inn & Suites San Antonio Downtown. We had done a fair amount of research as to where to stay in San Antonio, somewhere peaceful and quiet, but still close enough to the touristy things in San Antonio, (The Alamo, Riverwalk etc). all reviews » Staff was excellent. When checking out, I discovered that I had left my credit card at a eatery on the river the night before. The young lady at the desk was very helpful in helping me track down the name of the restaurant and calling them to locate my card. The manager had my card and she arranged for me to meet him and pick it up. Thank you for your extra effort in resolving what could have been a very inconvenient exercise of credit card replacement. I think this hotel is great it was very clean and the employee's was very friendly the breakfast was good as well, one young man that we met while at breakfast i think his name was Justin was so nice and helpful making sure our table was clean one of things i notice about this hotel beside the nice location was the pride that the employee's take in their work and how good they treat their guests it was a blessed experience. A privately owned small motel facility. Visually, nothing to write home about, but, for the money it was fine. Heat worked very well. King size bed was one of the best I have slept in on the road, especially in this price range. (NO BACK PAIN THE MORNING AFTER) Management was very nice, fair and gave us a room with larger bed size with no up charge!. Everyone on the hotel staff was extremely friendly, helpful, and congenial. They went out of their way to assist us in every way. Real Texas hospitality! The brunch was much better than we expected and the room was clean and orderly. It made for a great travel experience. We will definitely be staying there should we return. The staff was professional and helpful. The rooms were spotless and the pillows were delightful to sleep on. The price was very affordable especially for seniors on a fixed income. The hot breakfast was included and very tasty. The proximity to the Riverwalk was perfect. I loved the environment and everyone was so nice and helpful giving directions and great suggestions on good food. The pool was extremely nice heated my kids did not want to get out thanks to the staff who were so kind and making our stay delightful. The bed was very comfortable. Have never slept in a more comfortable bed. The room was very clean. And the staff were exceptionally friendly. couldn't ask for a better experience. Also, the breakfast was great, large variety of options. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly, definitely best experienced in the US, perhaps anywhere. Good breakfast, well-equipped gym, reliable wifi and convenient location. Rooms a good size and in good condition. It was in a good walking distance to the river walk and easy access to the highway in and out of San Antonio. Just 20 min from our main destination Sea World. We got to see it all and enjoy a good breakfast. It was very convenient to the river walk area, two blocks from the Alamo. We stayed four days and did not need our car while there...They had a very good breakfast. The rooms were in excellent condition. everyone was nice and friendly. The hotel was very nice and clean. The free breakfast was great.Lots of variety and good food.The bed was one of the best I have had in a hotel. I would stay here again. I liked how most of the staff was friendly, the location was close to the riverwalk, clean, noise free, accommodated my mom's request to be close to the bottom. Overall great experience. It's clean and close to everything in downtown San Antonio...the Alamo is just at the corner! Staff were very helpful even if I had some problems with my credit card at the beginning. The place was located close, within 3-5 blocks to many tourist attractions and in a safe area. The people at the desk were very helpful.The breakfast was also very nice. Out of all the hotels that we have stayed at this was the best hotel for location, friendly, clean, the breakfast was the best. Really enjoyed my stay I will be back. Didn't have it's own parking, had to pay for the valet to leave it in an opened parking lot around the street corner, not good at all, but the valet staff was really nice and helpful. How some staff just looked and did not speak and there was no hand santizier in the breakfast area. Since they had coffee machine in the room, they could also provide water kettle for making tea....had to go to the breakfast area whenever I want tea, but glad that it's there all the time!. High cost for parking, but that is San Antonio, not the hotel. Liked everything. The breakfast got cut off right at 10 a.m. on Sunday although the place was packed. Parking provided by hotel is $21 per night, but on reception you can see the list with free street parking place which are free till 8 am or in 7 minute walking near Shilo's Delilatessen you'll find a big parking lot with $12 per night. Traffic in San Antonio, but that is to be expected I guess. Couldn't find anything that we didn't like. Everything was perfect!. Paying so much to park. Would rather it be $10 a night. N/A. One of two elipticals was broken during our entire six day stay. Every day I was told it would be fixed by the next day. It never was. The fitness center was a big pull for me. I would not choose a facility without this. Needless to say, often times myself or others had to wait or come back to use the eliptical. Nothing. The room smelled old/musty and we ran the air to try to get rid of the smell. The coffee supply was not replenished after the first night. The bathtub was not properly cleaned. My husband had placed the bathmat in the tub and it was never removed for cleaning. No mini frig in room. The bed felt comfortable, but I was restless every night. Valet parking for 21$. The fact that the weekend we were there each night there was construction noise until approximately midnight, and our room was located on the same side with the construction, which was louder. The promised 'early' breakfast failed to materialize.. Even tho 2 Managers had agreed to arrange this. Not impressed. All Good !!!. The air conditioning goes on and off all the time and is quite loud. Should have split type air conditioner. No problems.
