  The hotel's location is perfect for vacation activities, both along Hudson Valley and into the Berkshires. It offers a great vista on downtown Albany, and is near the trains. - It was very quite, had a great view, and was close to Albany. The pool and hot tub were a nice surprise.

  The Stockade Inn is a historical property, and she is stunningly beautiful. I loved the architectural detail that has lovingly been restored. I was regularly told "Yes!" by the staff when I asked to peek into yet another room (dining room, Billiards room, banquet room) to look at it because it was so beautiful. The staff are very welcoming. We ar... what people say » rived with our backpacks, after having traveled all night on the train. As any "good" hotel should, we were welcomed as if we were royalty. The staf - An absolutely extraordinary, incomparable experience. All staff (desk, waitress, housekeeping) were engaging and very helpful. The entire meal was superior in every way. My lady loved the location, the historic preservation of the inn, the wall photographs of local history and people. We were a short walk to State Street and toured the Proctor theatre, finding a vibrant cultural and historical vibe about town we did not otherwise know. We will be back, in a heartbeat.
