This is a great resort! The units are spacious and well equipped. They even have electric blenders,beaters and an ice bucket and numerous bbqs. Lots of colourful birds flit around in the trees and there's lots of other cute wildlife. Its only a short drive to the best supermarket we found in Hawaii. Everything about this place is excellent except the pool which is far too small for the amount of guests there are. However as its right on the beach, the ocean and local sea turtles make up for it. The beach is spacious and not crowded. Room is modern, with everything you need. We loved out stay here.

A very friendly B&B in Pahoa, the innkeeper, Irene, was super
friendly and helpful. I was feeling ill the day I arrived from a week-
long cold, and Irene made me ginger tea immediately. I felt so much
better the next day. It's a motherly touch that a large resort
cannot replicated (which I stayed at before arriving at Lava Tree).
It's something so small as that that can change your entire vacation
and make it bettter. The home was clean and the breakfast was delicious.
