The area is not bad at all! There is construction, but you can tell it
is an up & coming area! If you use 200 Florida ave ne you will get
to the hotel no problem. As far as "sketchy" people in the
area I will say this, there is a mix of people in the area & there
are pan handlers all over dc, even by the White House. The metro is

This place was really funky and cool. The staff was really nice and helpful and the rooms were clean and had everything you need including leopard robes! It is a good location to walk to the see the sights and there are a lot of good restaurants within a block. -

This hotel was very convenient because it is next door to the Metro (Farragut West). It is also close enough to the National Mall to walk to the Museums. The staff was very helpful and stored my luggage for the last day so I could attend the Inauguration ceremonies. It was nice and easy to pull our car right in off the street and be assisted by someone right away who brought in our luggage and parked our car. The location of the hotel was excellent - close to shops and restaurants.
The bus stop for the conference center is right outside thd hotel - an added bonus as was the free wifi.
The staff were also very friendly and helpful, making it a great stay, even for a single female traveller on business. I'd definitely stay again.

For a city hotel, the room was very large easily accommodating 2 queen size beds along with an easy chair plus ottoman. Upon arriving at the hotel our room was instantly upgraded to an Executive Suite for no additional charge. We were very interested in the complimentary wine hour, but since our morning was hectic we did not attend it. The location is perfect and 5 blocks from the White House. We loved the location. Right on GW campus around the corner from a major metro stop (foggy bottom) and Whole Foods. Walking distance to the Mall - Lincoln Memorial. Good restaurants (especially "Founding Farmers") around the corner. Whole Foods was very convenient to get healthy food to have in the suite. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. It's about 3 blocks away from the Metro which made it very easy getting to all tourist attractions. It was great to have a kitchen with us. I didn't find a supermarket close by, by CVS next door had many choices for us to make sandwiches to bring with us to our tours.
