  This motel is in a good location at the east end of the main street through town - close to shopping, dining and Mesa Verde National Park. The free continental breakfast was better than I expected for a motel in this price range. The breakfast room was small but cute and very clean with an attentive front desk clerk keep - The room was very clean and they allowed pets. The rooms were back off the highway, whereas other motel/hotels in this area were not. The benches outside the rooms and table and chairs on the grassy area outside were a nice plus in the evening.

We are active so we don't spend much time in a hotel/motel room, therefore, we don't want to spend money for a space we don't occupy long-term, yet we want a site that is clean and well-maintained. Liked having the coffee maker,microwave and refrigerator in the room - all were larger that the average motel models... what people say » , which was a plus.   I read some of the reviews here before booking, some great, some not so great, but the price was the best in town, so I figured heck, I'll give it a try. For my stay, The best part of this hotel is the owners hospitality. They went out of their way to make us feel at home. What a pleasant surprise when I went I went to my room and found furniture that one might find in a bedroom at home. Not the usual drab, cheap, hotel furniture in most hotels. Loved the free water for outings, the snacks (though we didn't take any), and the uniquely real people who staffed the front desk. Each one was genuinely a kind, considerate person! Loved them!   I was pleasantly surprised! I booked this because of the rate (hoping it was not going to be an unclean dump.) In any case the man at the desk was exceptionally kind and the room was the most comfortable I have stayed in for quite some time. The motel is also set back from the street far enough to make all of the rooms quiet as well. I will absolutely stay here again.

  The motel has been recently upgraded by new owners. The beds and 100% cotton linens were fantastic. Each room has a little different decor. It is as if the travelers needs were thought of first: 4 bed pillows; layers of bed covers; plates, silverware, corkscrew, toaster, kitchen towels and glassware for the micro/fridge area, lots of fluffy towels... what people say » ; wi-fi, and flat screen. Staff and owner were attentive and friendly . Great to be away from the chains. Stayed 3 nites and did not need regular maid - Great Staff, The owner bent over backwards to ensure we were comfortable. The price is a great value. Hotel is from 1947 so don't expect modern baths etc. tho Wi-Fi was good, expect the charm of a well maintained hotel from an era long past. Great stay, will stay again
