The staff was friendly and prompt. The room was clean, quite comfortable. The bed was very comfortable and the small but good. There was a line of construction workers that came into the hotel to check in behind me and I really worried about the noise that may cause. Well there was nothing to worry about because it was SO quite here. Thanks. I was very impressed with the reception at the front desk (Lindsey). At check inn, rep volunteered to print out directions to an inquiry we made. Maid service saw us enter our room for the first time and was quick to ask us if we needed anything and contact her if we thought of something later. Excellent customer service.
all reviews » I found this hotel perfect for a stay. It was basic but clean and had everything you'd need for a comfortable stay. There are a few stores right next door: Walmart. Applebees and Home Depot and a few others- very useful when you need a last minute snack or toothbrush. I will definitely be returning in a couple of weeks. As always my stay was comfortable and met my needs for my stay. This is the second time Ive stayed there in the past 30 days and in a different section of the hotel. This room was also very clean which is on the top of my "must" list. The rates are great- cant beat it. Very helpfull and smilig stuff. Rooms are clean and quite big. It's nice that you can park your car just next to your room's door- easy packing. Breakfast like everywhere else in America. Nothing dissapoited us. U can add very tasty milk with nut flavor to your coffe. Great location and lovely spacious rooms. Good shower. Good continental breakfast and 24 hour coffee for the lazy ones who can't be bothered brewing it in their rooms. Very comfortable and large bed. Huge room and nice sheets. It's an older facility but is clean and spacious. Too cold for swimming when we were there but pool would be nice in summer. Not luxurious but clean and functional. Would recommended this hotel to anyone visiting the area on a budget. My room was large and clean. The lady working the front desk was friendly and helpful. This long-established motor hotel has lots of grass and shade trees, and a nice outdoor pool setting. The room was up-to-date, spacious and well-appointed. Nothing. It was hard at first to see where to drive into the hotel, but once you did it was easy. Drain in bathtub wasn't quite draining well but definitely not the worst drainage I've seen in hotel tubs. Nothing that would stop me from returning. Very cold and the heater didn't help much. I didn't ask for an extra blanket, but I'm sure they would have helped so don't judge too harshly by my comment. Towels were smallish and a bit rough. Tv was older and not a flat screen but we were there to attend a family wedding in Watkins Glen - not watch TV so that may not be important. Breakfast fare was unimaginative - cold cereal, yogurt & packaged pastries. Coffee was good and available any time. The grounds and walkways could be more tidily maintained, enhancing the advantage of the "big-on-greenery, not on blacktop" setting already in L-O-T-G's favor. The breakfast wasn't much but the price was right. The outside of the building looks horrible and it gave me the impression that it was run down. The exterior of the buildings could use a facelift. The breakfest area was too small for the number of roomas that they had. No real complaints - a well-run establishment. No door out to the pool area. Breakfast was really only so so. Needed to have more of a variety for breakfast. Updated room decore. Breakfast could use more. I prefer yogurt and fruit opposed to packaged muffins & cold cereal. we had booked a non smoking room, but upon arrival we were told by a very rude lady at the front desk that she couldn't do anything about it and wouldn't hear us out. The lady was very rude and not helpful at all. The outside of some of the buildings need a lot of maintenance. I notice a lot of paint peeling. breakfast poor...needed toaster. butter jam, more fruit, boiled eggs. Heater was not working properly on a 10 degree winter's night. Getting an extra blanket took over an hour. seemed like the mgmt was not prepared for patron's possible discomfort with room temperatures. The smell was terrible. Terrible.
