I stayed in the King Terrace Suite, and it was FABULOUS. The room was beautifully decorated, the view from the large terrace was AMAZING, and the room was so cozy and spacious. The staff at the front desk (my check-in attendant was Robert) was very friendly and professional, and made me feel very welcome. I will definitely be coming back to the Thompson!. The staff was amazing, friendly, and very accommodating. The in-house restaurant, Blue Ribbon Sushi, was absolutely and almost surprisingly delicious, and the ambience made the experience all the better. The rooms and bathrooms are modern and stylish, comfortable and spacious. The location in the LES of Manhattan is perfect, you can't ask for more!.

Katz's deli right around the corner, metro stop across the street, less than 5 min walk from SoHo and China Town. A lot of nice bars and restaurants in the neighbourhood, feels lively and safe at night. Clean rooms, rain shower head, no bath/shower (no one likes a bath/shower), location was amazing for a really interesting side of nyc, hotel (and letsbookhotel.com) were flexible with me chopping off a few days at the end of the stay due to changes in plans. Outstanding service from the front desk to roomservice & cleaning staff. Excellent mini-bar & luxury touches throughout the suite & hotel. Miguel at the front desk was especially friendly & helpful addressing my concearns. Not crazy about the bathroom door. closes loudly & kinda awkward. Sheets and pillowcases smelled a little bleach-y, toilet and tissue paper too scratchy—just nitpicky stuff. Pool often closed for private events. I simply don't understand why you have to pay for WiFi when it is not exactly a sheep hotel. The non smiling and non friendly female life guard in the pool area should be offered a charm class. There was a problem with our room - it smelled of smoke, which got worse through the night. Luckily staff changed us immediately with no fuss. Charging for WiFi in room? Why? Come on guys! - Feels like such a rip off it will make me think twice about coming back. Seriously advise you to stop it. Towels a bit small. Pillows a bit soft. Walls are not soundproofed enough. Room was below the bar above us and we heard thumping music until close. Could also hear the people next to us even though they were just talking normally. can´t think of anything. In-room wifi should be free with these room rates. Alot of the menu selections including wine they were out of. That they didn't have a room available for me the next night. And did not offer to help me get a room at one of there other hotels!. Quite expensive but that's New York for you. Swimming Pool was not functioning while we were there. Glass shower enclosures are difficult with a family or group of unrelated adults. There was no full-length mirror in the room. They seemed to miss cleaning my floor properly, especially on the first night I arrived and again later in my stay. One morning I had maintenance drilling right outside my door which woke me, I could hear everything, I asked them to stop but they carried on, I had to call reception to ask them to stop. Not cool. Also no free WIFI anywhere in hotel and no coffee/tea making facilities. Despite being on the 10th floor it was extremely noisy from Above Allen. Weekend parties at the hotel appeared more important than the actual hotel guests. A pool party on the Saturday made using the lift a nightmare. Too expensive. Small room. Roof bar open on weekends. asked front desk maintenance to fix curtains, as they did not close all the way. It was not fixed. No staff readily at front desk late at night. Staff was not friendly. Service was not good. No free wifi in the rooms. Breakfast not included in price. Not easy to operate the lifts - lighting very poor in lifts so not easy to select correct button. Booked through letsbookhotel.com but hotel charged different rate / taxes. we have not liked the behavior of the reception. at 4:30 pm room was not ready (check in was at 3:00 pm) which after long trip was not acceptable poor cleaning poor toiletry stuff staff didn't pay any attention on us as a guests.
