The closest hotel I have found is the Milestone in London. It has perfect, large rooms for NYC, free snacks and soft drinks, a wonderful spa, and enough quirks and charms to make it I suspect the best hotel experience in NYC. You can pay up for a fancy, big lobby but I think this is actually the best hotel experience.

- The design of the room was beautiful and comfortable - Complimentary snacks and mini bar - Staff were extremely friendly and helpful, the service was immaculate - Nice area with lots of cafes and restaurants - Room was spacious

- No Coffee and Tea facilities provided in the room. - Value for money is questionable, however i am glad that i spent this money for a special occasion.

Greenwich Hotel is so special I don't want To share to much other than to say. Home away from home in the greatest city in the world.

The Greenwich was a beautiful boutique hotel with fantastic personal service

The pillows were uncomfortable, but that is the ONLY negative I can find!

OM-Gosh! What a hotel.... Firstly the staff are A-mazing and secondly the hotel is just marvellous. This hotel is more like a private members club than a hotel, its chic, suave and sophisticated but by no means 'showey' like most high-end expensive hotels. The attention to detail on furnishings in the drawing room and bedrooms is just exqusite. Dining in the courtyard-just delightful not to mention the food from nextdoor Locana Verde.... Soft-Drinks and Treats in the room are all gratis which was a nice touch. Maid service to my room was superb, bed was always made, bedsheets and towels changed, bath products were delightful. Spa is small and personal, generally felt like i had the whole place to myself. De Niro and his clan have so got this sooo right. Note that this hotel is not for people who love plush, ostentatious surroundings even though the price is indicative of that, it truely is for a unique clientelle.

My room was on the 2nd floor and facing the courtyard (which is nice) but just felt it was a little dark during the day. My room didnt have a bath which would have been an added bonus considering what you pay.

We got in very late and the staff from the moment we walked were wonderful. Our room had a European flair. I will definitely stay there again!

The decor was beautiful. The staff were so friendly. The Bath was huge and water pressure was awesome in the shower. There were room snacks which were free. It was quiet so slept so well. It was in a great location for shopping in smaller boutique shops.

There was nothing I didnt like.

Relaxed atmosphere. Pleasant and helpful staff. Modern amenities. Location. Spotting a guest celebrity. European feel. Complimentary items in room. Privacy.

Too dark inside. Folks with computers who took up whole sofas and nooks. No place to sit in lobby. Sofa in our room was not comfortable. Couldn't get up out of it either.
