The room was nicely decorated and very clean. Just what you can expect from a new, renovated hotel. The room was somewhat on the small side (1 king bed, room with two queens is larger but also more expensive) but I guess that is common in NY where space is limited and hotel prices are high. It was our first stay in NY so I cannot compare with other hotels. However, you don't hear us complain because we slept very well in the city that never sleeps thanks to the large, spaceous bed. all reviews » This is a beautiful hotel. The room was extremely clean and up-to-date. Our beds were comfortable. It definitely fit our needs for NYC. It was very close to everything - walking distance to 5th Avenue, Broadway, Times Square - but we were not in the midst of the crowds, noise and chaos. Parking, stores, and non-touristy restaurants nearby. Staff very friendly and helpful. Perfect hotel to relax in and we were fine with the smaller size because we were not in there much. Breakfast was wha. Very friendly and helpfull staff, small (normal size to NY standards?) but clean room, comfi bed, various options for breakfast (muffins, beigels, corn flakes, scrambled eggs, oatmeal, fresh fruit...), WiFi worked perfectly. Location is very good between 5th and 6th av, walking distance to Empire State Building, Times Square, Rockefeller Center, ... Would definatly recommend this hotel. The staff was very nice and helpful. I have clients on east and west side so location was perfect for me. My room was very clean, warm. I had king bed with a divided section with the desk and loveseat which was perfect for working. Continental breakfast and WiFi included in rate was great. Will stay there again. Great place in gods location. Good sized rooms compared to what you could get elsewhere. Gym was very good and spacious. free breakfast early for holiday so only used couple of times but was pretty nice. WE asked for a higher up room as were at the back and being higher was great and room far lighter with view. The hotel location is excellent in the heart of busy midtown ,but still in a quite street.Though in midtown NY the view from the top street floors is good (view of the Empire state bldg). efficient and practical. Modern and new. staff are helpful and courteous. nice interior scheme and colors. The hotel and the hotel staff are absolutely great, the hotel is right what you expect from 4 star hotel. For sightseeing the location is perfect, food shops and pharmacy on the same street or around the corner, coffee facilities, bathroom a bit small, but its no problem. The room is quite big. So if you wich to enjoy a peasefull breakfast before hitting the busy streets of NY, I suggest that you fill up your plates and take it to your room because sometimes there were no more tables available. But than again, I guess it is typical NY style... It didn't bother us, but the bathroom is in very close proximity to the beds and just has a sliding, shaded out door. Just keep in mind your comfort level with who you are traveling with if this is not appealing to you. Closet is very small, hardly no space to hang clothes. Not a huge deal, but did not get my room cleaned. Housekeeping didn't come until after 4:30 and by then I was back from my meetings and needed to dress for evening. They did apologize and offered towels, bath products, etc. Wouldn't have liked being on lower floor we were originally but in as was dark. Expensive but thats new york for you. the air-conditioning in the room is noisy. the room where we stayed is next to the elevators, the noise of the elevator going up and down can be heard. closet is small. no slippers and pure breakfast, but breakfast in other cities in USA was pretty the same, maybe it's just normal for them.. We did not find a single thing that we did not like. Everything was wonderful. What we didn't like was leaving this hotel!. Nothing!!. No proper mugs in room for use with coffee maker and no glasses no cutlery or crockery which given the provision of microwave and fridge was odd. all good. we had a false fire allarm, but being not real it was quite funny to see firemen arriving to check the situation, let's say a NYC experience and a good test for safety equipments in the hotel. We have any complain about this hotel. Plastic disposable cutlery and plates not robust enough for the task. No tea bags or facility to make tea in the room - only a coffee maker. Breakfast didn't have enough choices. The dining room is too small to accomodate all guests during rush hours. Food is served on single-use plastic plates - not convenient to eat and not so green as Mariott tries to present itself... Seems like the check-out time (12pm) and the breakfast (which ended at 9am) could both last 1 hour longer, since we were in the city that never sleeps. Also, we weren't fond of the frosted glass on the bathroom door, since it was a room designed for up to 2 couples. Made it a little less family friendly. The bed size. I though was bigger. the lady who checked us out didn't apologize for the mistake on the bill. Air conditioning very noisy. If coffee were available all day, I would have been extra thrilled with my stay. That seems to be the only thing missing. Lobby areas and elevators were small, the eggs were not great, we were there during a holiday weekend so the hotel was quite busy made the elevator wait a bit tough but still okay. Breakfast hours should go later especially when its so busy you couldn't move around the area. The aircon / heater was noisy but I was not a light sleeper so that works out ok. nothing at all. Could be less expensive. Air Conditioning was very noisey. Not enough bath towels for the number of people. Breakfast area too small for the number of people. Pubic hair in my shower from previous hotel guest.Sink plunger was broke. Couldn't check in early. Asked for higher floor, couldn't accomodate.Poor communication between letsbookhotel.com and hotel when there was a room charge mistake--too way too long to fix and too many emails and calls back and forth, for such a simple mathematical error. Breakfast,included in price wasn't all that good,but that's pretty minor given that nearby alternatives are available and well priced. Climate-control in rooms didn't work. It was compromised by drapes placed over register--poor design. Only two elevators. When one broke down, had to use the stairs to get to lobby. Very expensive 300 $ per night, very small rooms.no upgrade. Fan in the heater/ac was a little noisy at times. Eggs can be cooked in a number of ways.... the scrambled eggs are very nice. But every day? The lack of easy chairs in the room The extensive use of throwaway plastic cutlery & crockery. The price but I guess this is the price to pay while staying in NYC... Sliding bathroom door should be less transparent. A little bit on the pricey side. The hitting system is a little bit noisy. nothing actually. The hotel is deceiving prospective guests. The rooms do NOT have separate living area and do not look anything like the photos. Breakfast was fair could use a few more items waffles, pancakes, bacon. The ice machine wasn't working on my floor. The breakfast, not enough room and too many people.
