Location was just amazing!!! Concierge service was fantastic as was the room device/bellboy service. Particular mention of concierge Carolyn, and Papa in lobby. Also the customer relations lady from Slovenia was amazing. Rooms are very comfortable and good size. No wifi was a pain as only in lobby and with so many renovations public areas to sit are nil. Renovations are huge and very little space to move sit or relax at the moment except for bar where a glass of wine is €19 at cheapest and smal.
all reviews » The hotel is in a great location. A block away from 51st and lexington subway station or 10 minutes walk to grand central/42nd st station. This is also a block away from the 5th Ave. From 5th Ave you can walk for 10 minutes and you'll get to Central Park. St Patrick's Cathedral is also across the street from the hotel. We were there to watch the us Open so it was very convenient to walk to Grand Central Station and take the 7 train to the Flushing Meadows. Brian, who helped us with our bags whe. staff excellent and attentive. excellent large rooms for manhatten.. facilities in the room were excellent excellent location walking distance to times square 12 minutes. Rockafella 1 block 5 mins. Central park 14 minutes. Such a wonderful location in a class part of town. they have a shower room , towels, and shower gels hairdrier etc to use prior to getting your flight to refreshen up once you have checked out on the 8th floor locker rooms. Outstanding Hotel we would love to see it once it. Having read previous comments about the hotel and the current refurbishment, we were relieved to step into a beautiful hitel at 2.30am! Rooms were spacious even with 4 of us staying in one room. Staff were always polite and helpful, there were no queues for the lifts and the rooms had everything in them you would need for a 3 night stay. Breakfast is very expensive as were the cocktails in the bar, but you have to remember that New York is expensive anyway! Great hotel and would thoroughly reco. If you Are looking for a Hotel in walking distance to 5th Avenue, Rockefeller Center, Central Park, Times Square(even the meatpackingdistrict for those who likes a longer walk) shopping and restaurants, this hotel has the perfect location. The staff in this hotel are very professional and healpful, the Congergie are extremly professoional and fantastic people, helping you out with all you need to know and go. The room we got was beautiful with a great view. I would love to stay here another tim. I had a great stay at the NY Palace. It is not the cheapest hotel in the town but it surely adds à plus to your stay in NY. The rooms are very spacious and have a great view. The staff is great and really does everything to make your stay special: the concierge service is the best and helpt you with every question you woud have, as this was oud honeymoon we got champagne in the room the first nicht. After a hectic day in the city it is a quiet place of luxury to return to. The location is terrific. We booked at a discount rate due to the renovations currently underway, and that proved to be a wise choice. The renovations meant that the mansion was off-limits, but the high-rise operated normally. I'm sure the rates will go far above $500 when the renovations conclude, and I wouldn't pay that, but I felt it was a good deal for $300-350. The fact that letsbookhotel.com let us down hugely - Our reservation was not sent through to the New York Palace and it was only thanks for a terrific person on Front Desk would pleaded our case to her manager, that we were able to stay there at all. Having flown in from Bermuda, we were not impressed to find that letsbookhotel.com had not followed through. New York palace is in a location for tourists to travel within manhattan. Most of the locations are within walking distance or you pay a small fare by to the yellow cab. It works cheaper to travel by cab rather than by tube if you are a family of four. The staff are vey polite and courteous . It was our first visit to ny and we were very happy. We had a two-bed room on the 38th floor so there was little noise coming up from the street. The room was large enough (and probably large for NYC). Beds were a bit soft, but still OK for my taste. Location is very good, the Rockefeller Center is one block away with many food options. The hotel is easily reachable with public transport. The price was bar-none, amazing. I got a 2000+ dollar room for 213 dollars. Immediately we were upgraded to the towers, and enjoyed beautiful scenic views of nyc, were in proximity to beautiful shopping stores, and enjoyed a most luxurious night. It was fantastic, it was the best room I had ever been in. Hotel is beautiful, reataurant, bar and coffee shop 5 stars, staff courteous and excellent, room spacious and clean, location perfect. Even though there was construction on the street, the staff was always outside to help with luggage and call cabs, and room service was quick.Will definitely stay again. We just stayed over Memorial weekend and the location was PERFECT! There were no restaurants operating because of the renovations although there were a lot of good ones in the area. currently the hotel is being refurbished. There is a little noise from 0800 to 1700 mid week. However this did start at 0700 on most days. However this could have been St Patricks across the road which is also being refurbished as well. Despite all this it was worth staying there. Expensive for breakfast and bar. The hotel is going through some renovations. This is not mentioned when you reserve. The first day we were wakened by the noice of the works. However, when I talken this with the assistant hotel manager, he immediately worked out a solution. No discussions, only apologies and perfect solution so I can only say this woud make me go back. Please make sure to check the prices before you use this facility. WLAN is expensive (15.99$ per day), should be included in the price. Both St. Patrick's and the Hotel (loby) were under renovation so it was a bit noisy first thing in the morning however NYC is always noisy! Even with that I would most DEFINITELY stay here again it was an awesome experience. The hotel was under construction..As hard as they tried the lobby was boarded up and the bar was being worked on etc. The restaurant was slightly overpriced for New York. Though the food was good and offered an easy option for the first couple of days, there are definitely better priced restaurants all over nyc. The only hotel I have ever stayed in with no tea/coffee making facilities. Lack of tea/coffee making facility. Being picky but requested coffee machine twice which never appeared. I wanted to pay the price I was quoted on day of booking when dollar rate was quite good. But they wouldnt take payment until a later date when dollar rate had gone down. Therefore had to pay quite a bit more. Also no tea or coffee making facilities in rooms which is badly needed as you dont always want to go out just to get a hot drink. Just that there was renovations going on so the lobby was crowded but not really much of a problem. Some parts of the hotel is still ongoing their renovation. Too classic than hip & edge. No facilities for drinks in room, no restaurant facilities (although this will change when remodelling is completed). Renovations are on going in the hotel, this did not affect our stay, before we left the upgraded reception area was in use and looked great, all renovations will be completed by September, but don't let this put you off using the hotel. The only thing I didn't like was in the morining we were woke up early because they are doing construction on the hotel. But I know that when it is complete the hotel will be even more amazing. nothing. Under construction, major renovations going on a the hotel at teh moment so it definitely took away from the ambiance . . . Plus, saw some "fee for a nite players" in the front lobby and coming off the elevator in the am so the security seemed a little lax particularly for the price. No room facilities for tea or coffee, this was a real let down when you have been out late and when you wake up you always want a quick cuppa. Got a bit fed up with the tip regime, you couldnn do anything without having to tip people. The staff could be a bit more friendlier except for the door men who were extra friendly. The house keeping staff were not consistent. The room was done differently every day. Nothing. Beds too small. Renovations in foyer and exterior of the building was a let down. People crowding the small foyer. Lack of good restaurant in the hotel. The layout is a bit crazy ~ from check-in to elevators & the staors you have to go up & down makes it difficult to get your own bag anywhere. If someone takes it you feel the necessity to tip. I also don't like the fact that no less than 3 people had hands on the luggage from arrival at hotel to arrival at room & I had to tip them all. I am not a cheap person, but the tipping is a bit out of control at hotels. The food was not very good and very expensive, the service was nice, I do not approve of the mini bar set up as each time you pick something up to look you are charged even if you put it right back, tacky!. its noisy area !!. Theatre Shuttle bus offered by hotel to Broadway. Driver dropped us off at wrong location as did not know his way around theatre district and somewhat rude about it. Would have been less hassle to walk to the show. charging for the internet and no free internet in the lobby. The mini bar is super over priced. The hotel is being renovated and the work results in the hotel's grandeur being somewhat lost. On arrival our taxi driver could not find the entrance and "dumped" us far from the "temporary" entrance. Not the hotel's problem as such but disappointing. That time the hotel was under full renovation it looks really messy the checking in takes forever and the last one was that the concierge was waiting for the tipping which was rather rude and he clenched his teeth when we deliberately not giving the tip to see how he would react..
