The hotel is absolutely adorable. We had Bird Room, decorated with fantastic paintings. The bad is big and comfortable, we felt like home. The bathroom with shower and hair dryer, and shampoo I was in love with. It was quite and warm in the room, one of the important things is that we had our own key, so we could be absolutely free to go and come back anytime we want. all reviews » We, a family of five, hired the Artists Loft. It was a very pleasant place to stay: a large separate bedroom for the parents, a very large living room including three beds for the kids and a very convenient kitchen block (including free coffee). So enough space to move around and the appartment was very nicely decorated. Also it had WiFi (very important for teenage kids to stay in touch with their friends at home)! Sophie and Stephanie were very guest-friendly. Harlem is a safe place to stay an. Hosts were lovely and very helpful with local information, transport, etc, though still had privacy. Kitchenette facility and ensuite very convenient. Bed was amazing. Courtyard out the back downstairs - nice if you want some downtime. Pleasant walk (approx. 5-10 min) to restaurants, shops, subway station, etc. It was also a very unique location in Harlem - despite being nervous initially as a single woman travelling solo, I soon felt at ease (even when walking at night). A great option to . We stayed here for 9 nights in the Victoria Room. The room is small but quirky and cosy with a lovely en suite bathroom. The staff are very friendly and were always willing to help us from printing out tickets for us to giving us a fantastic overview of the area and NYC when we arrived. We didn't want to leave! I highly recommend this place to others. We felt safe walking around Harlem even when we returned late in the evening. La Maison d' Art really does feel like you are staying in "real" N. The room was comfy and quaint. Its' whimsical appeal that made it quite romantic. The art work in the halls and waiting area was abundant and eclectic. Sophie, the hotel manager was friendly and accommodating. We loved the whirlpool bathtub. We also loved the short walk to shopping and nightlife. Finally, cabs were plentiful in the area. The 2 women running La Maison d'Art provided the most welcoming, comfortable stay during our trip. They make themselves available to every guest to ensure that their stay is exceptional in a setting that is friendly and filled with the products of local artists! My new 'Go To' place in NYC. We first had our doubts with Harlem but as the taxidriver told us this was 'good Harlem'. I loved the little extras that were added like the coffee filters,coffee and perculator.I loved that althought the hotel was full we didn't hear anyone else and only saw one other family once. The location is great which is nearby the subway and close to Central Park. The staffs are friendly and helpful, and the style of the hotel made u like staying at home. The subway station is about a 10 min walk away and then it takes about 10 mins on the subway to get to midtown which was fine for us but some may want to consider this if they want to be closer to the centre of everything. The room was very cold. It took a long time for the wall mounted heater to warm up the room. There was no heat in the bathroom. I couldn't stay longer. Nothing, maybe we mist a closet or a place to put your clothes and luggage. We had the Victorian room and noticed that the other rooms were taller. My one and only complaint was that there wasn't a full length mirror in our room. No elevator. Nothing, the accomodation and the city were both incredible. I don't like this hotel location at all. This area very dirty and hotel don't clean room when I was stay there Hotel even charged $40 for clean fee when I arrived But for whole 6 nights stay they didn't clean my room Very disappoint with this hotel Would def not go back to stay that hotel again.
