Great location. Easy access to Times Square restaurants and subway. My husband and I stayed there with our 3 kids 16, 12, and 2 when we arrived the bill was higher than we had anticipated. The front desk clerk, Irene worked her magic and made our arrival very pleasant. Steve Cassado, the guy at the door, took us to our room and took his time explaining everything that we could do on our stay at ny City. Adrian was also a great help. He helped my husband buy tickets for a Yankees game. Housekeep.
all reviews » This hotel was awesome!!! Four forty-somethings met for our annual 'girls weekend' and were unsure about the hotel, since we booked online. We had an apartment reserved that fell through at the last minute and in a panic we found the Intercontinental online and we were so happy. We could not believe how clean and beautiful this hotel was the conceirge and doormen were wonderfully helpful. Great restaurant recommendations, etc. We will definitely stay again. Would be nice if it were a bit . We loved the location, steps to Times Square, 10 minute walk to Central Park, great restaurants and bars on 9th street. Theatre District is steps away, highly recommend Carmines for dinner. The beds are the most comfortable any of us have ever slept in. We were worried about the traffic noise but the rooms are quiet. Darleen at the front desk was outstanding in customer service and needs to be recognized for this. Benny was another that stood out for customer service--most of the staff was grea. Fantastic location within walking distance of lots of attractions and things to do. If you are high up the view is breathtaking . Lots of little extra things that made it special like chocolates and bed turned down, robe and slippers . Front desk Darlene was so friendly and helpful and the concierges were great at answering all our questions and offering suggestions . Staff friendly and very helpful. Hotel clean and comfortable and within easy walking distance (1 block) to Times Square and Broadway. View from room (26th Floor) was amazing over to Hudson River and up 8th Avenue to Central Park. Perfectly located for sight seeing excursions, extensive choice of dining and attending shows on Broadway. Highly recommended!!. Hotel was in a perfect location, just off Times Square but quiet enough to allow you to sleep. Our room was big and beds were so comfy. Staff were helpful when needed and allowed us to have a late check out and check in slightly earlier than normal, they will accomodate you if at all possible. I would highly recommend it if visiting New York City. Room adequate for the price. However slightly lower room standard Vs. Other ic Hotels in Europe, me or Asia - but it was rated as 4 star hote at letsbookhotel.com so this is ok. Good location. When I requested to remove content of mini bar I was not informed that this "service" wil cost usd 30 (…). Ambassador status recognized. Fabulous location near theatres and Times Square but off a bit so we enjoyed the relative quiet, everything in the hotel is upscale and well-attended so we were very comfortable, and the staff was excellent and very personable from start to finish. I would absolutely return whether with my family, friends, or for business. The locations was great, a short walk to Times Square. We asked for and got interconnecting rooms so it felt like a big room with us and the kids, but we all had privacy. We asked for a view and got a great view too. The bell boys were all very happy, cheerful, helpful guys depsite the sub-zero temperatures!. The location, the room was a good size compared with other similar New York hotels. We had a great view (36th floor). The facilities were clean and the staff friendly and helpful. The lobby bar was also nice and accommodating. I loved the huge windows with the amazing view of the city. The room had a clean & classy vibe to it that made me want to live there forever. The bathroom was awesome, the shower was extra relaxing & felt like a private spa all to myself. Amazing location. Just a block away for the busy streets of Time Square. And less than a block from the Theater district. Couldn't ask for more from a NY hotel. Staff was accommodating. The view in the room I had was just beautiful -- and so was the design of the bathroom. I actually took pictures since I'm considering a redesign at my house. Also - the gentlemen hailing cabs outside the hotel were great. The view of NYC skyline from my room on the 35th floor overlooking 8th avenue and the Hudson River was stunning! The room was one biggest I ever had in NYC and the king bed was so comfortable and the best pillows. the staff were really nice. location was perfect everything was within walking distance. The rooms were clean and comfortable. we had a deluxe room on a top floor and the view was amazing especially at night. Easy to get to from Lincoln Tunnel. Easy to park. The hotel was walking distance from the famous time's square and shopping areas. The Metro was close to the hotel as well. The price was high. The rooms are very expensive, even on deal they were $500/night and didn't provide free WIFI--unheard of in this day and age. Maid left our door open after turning down beds one evening - security appologised, investigated and said would pass it on to hotel manager but there was no follow up. Taxes (no amount quoted) added a substantial amount to cost of accommodation. Would have liked to know how much these were in advance of stay. Per diem internet fee. Paying for the internet - this should come free, the vast majority of hotels do not charge. The reception staff on arrival were lukewarm (better on departure), which was not what we expected and a disappointment after a long journey. Could not dial housekeeping from the room to request additional tea/coffee, there was simply no option. Nothing!. I was given a key that didn't work for my door & had to wait for them to bring me up another key...it took about 15min. But after commuting a long distance & dying to just crash out, 15min. Felt like forever. Just a minor situation though, overall the hotel is one of the best I've ever stayed in. We honestly can't say there's a single thing that we didn't like!. The elevator with secure room key entry was a disaster. Guests were going up and down like yo-yos because there were no instructions and the time frame was too limited to activate. Excessive minibar cost. Wifi is paid. The unmarked snacks that appeared to be room favors only to learn they were grossly overpriced room bar items. Be wary of what you open. I am not sure if the pillows are made of feathers, but it seemed like my daughter and I were stuffed up in the morning. You have to pay $30 to empty the mini bar. You will be charged for just either opening the mini bar or moving the items from the mini tray. Need more creamer and sugar in coffee area. Joining Ambassador Club should be explained better, and free night done automatically including current visit to gain more loyal customers. Warn tourists about bike scam. Wifi not available for free Rooms are a little overpriced for frequent visits. Card system on lifts difficulty to operate if your eyesight isn't perfect. Travelling with kids (12/10) it's nice to have a fridge. Not just a bar fridge. Otherwise no complaints. Staff too busy A bit traffics in and out hotel (metro downstairs is convenient). Im not used to paying for parking.. I understand its the city.. But parking should b included in the price. The hotel did not offer coffee in the lobby in the morning, we made it in our room or walked to breakfast for our first cup of coffee. Very little - maybe a bit pricey. WiFi is not free and quite expensive. But you can connect as much devices as you have. Rate changed during stay without notice. Booked superior room and was disappointed. Room was just run of the house. Nothing superior about it. Staff was not that friendly when asked about large increase in daily room rate. The Wifi service was a paid service I expected it to be complimentary comparing to the price paid for the room.
