all reviews » We had a deluxe double room on the 14th floor for 7 days. The room was large, the double beds were very comfortable and the room was clean and quiet. Location was good, close to central park, lots of good restaurants and 15 minute walk to times square. All in all we were totally satisfied with the room and the price. Would definitely stay at the Holiday Inn in the future. Staff very friendly and helpful. Hotel was clean and the staff were very helpful and always willing to assist.The room service was very efficient and food was value for money. Staff cleaning the rooms were courteous and nice.The buffet breakfast was worth for those with children. I stayed with my wife and son(10 years) for 10 days and it was worth it. Great location for exploring mid town Manhattan on foot and easy access to subway at Columbus circle for going downtown. Spacious, well equipped and clean rooms with comfy large beds and easy to use bath and shower facility. Friendly well informed staff. Not bad value for hotel type and prime location. This hotel is a good deal for Manhattan. Close to the Central Park and to Broadway, it has very good location. Although it's still expensive, Holiday Inn was one of the cheapest hotel I found (with good services and comfortable rooms) at that region of ny. I would stay there next time. Big and clean room with two double beds was exactly to our expectations. Lifts could be slow and crowded and no stairs alternative, only fire escape which took you to back of hotel into the car park. I was on 17th floor and it became frustrating after a few days waiting for the lift and then stopping at each level on the descent to the lobby especially in the morning. Perhaps a small gripe in the overall scheme of things!. WiFi internet was unstable and the signal was very weak in my room. Noise protection of the entrance doors to the rooms needs to be improved. Sometimes, I had to insist with people in charge to look more carefully for the boxes delivered under my name because they were ready to dismiss it after a quick search; the concierge service wasn't able to convince us of her efforts to get useful answers. In both cases, staff were very polite, though. Greeting - I was told off by the receptionist for going straight to her desk without being called! There was no queue and I was tired. Not a nice welcome at all. I just wanted to leave! Room for 2 people only had one chair and one bedside table. nothing. The only complaint would be the elevator. We had to wait a long time until we could get on one. walls to thin, you can here next door and above when they use toilet and shower. its New York the city that never sleeps so expect some noise. The room was a little crowded. Lack of soundproofing - traffic noise from street at night; crying baby in next room. Lack of tea making facilities in room. No gluten free menu which was essential for my daughter. Female concierge particularly unfriendly (in contrast to her male colleague). Nothing. The room was hot. There was nothing to dislike really, it's a basic hotel, comfortable but not outstanding in terms of layout and facilities. Nothing. Front Office Clerk who checked us in and out, paid Internet in the business center, no tea in the room (just coffee), no bottles of water and slippers in the room. The rooms need renovation the carpet was dirty and the armchair full of wholes -breakfast a bit poor but with very nice staff too. prices at the hotel lobby bar :( And that you could not eat a sandwich in the lobby :(. Was old fashioned. Aware rooms are undergoing refurbishment. Badly needing done. For the price we paid, expected more modern environment. Had a few issues with our group. Rooms were not ready on arrival. Had early start one morning and restaurant staff wouldn't even supply us with some toast!!!. You have to ask for tea bags, only coffee is provided. the room was hot we could find a knob to turn on the air just heat would like to have had some christmas celebrations going on like small stuff hot cocco and cookies when you come in a night maybe a game room for the kids. Double bed was too small for two people and there were no spare blankets, The heater/air conditioner didnt work very efficiently. Wi-fi was announced in the room, but didn't work. Small bath rooms. Ugly lobby. automatic inclusion of a 15% gratuity.
