The room was a good size for NYC. Hotel was a block from Grand Central Terminal, super for subway and subway shuttle to Times Square! The restautant on site was nice, good food, out door seating. Because it was on 44th, and blocked by the terminal, the street was REALLY quiet. Toiletries and hair dryer and iron all good, no need to pack yours!. I liked the fact that the room and bathroom were very clean and well kept. For New York City the size and price of the hotel room were also exceptional, especially when looking at some of the other hotels in the area. All of the staff, including the restaurant, were helpful and friendly and eager to serve. Everything is in walking distance.
all reviews » The hotel and staff were fantastic. The front desk staff (i.e. Kieran) and Catering Staff (Neisha & Kelley) were especially great. The location is absolutely perfect with Grand Central Stn. a mere 30 second walk away; leaving NYC totally at your disposal. We had a great time and will return. I really loved the location, close to Grand Central Station, so very easy to reach from Newark airport if you take the $16 bus, and close to the shopping streets. Staff was also very friendly, I'll definitely saty in this hotel again next time I'm in New York. I traveled as former world Champion (MMA)around the world, but never found such nice staff and clean as well hotel. You are my favorite Hotel on my list. Now I am not coming just to NY I will come to NY to stay in your Hotel. Thank you all so much. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. I loved that we were able to use an electric tea kettle in our room. Room was very clean. I appreciate that we could leave our bags after checkout and before we left the city; was a great help. This is a lovely boutique hotel in a nice area near Grand Central Station. The staff is friendly and very helpful, especially the Bellman, Gregory, who went out of his way to help us in every way possible. The staff at reception and in the restaurant were particularly friendly and most helpful at all times. We had a very enjoyable stay and would definitely recommend the Fitzpatrick Grand Central. neighborhood: many opportunities to have breakfast close to the hotel; 15 minutes walk from times square; safe area; the doorman was very helpful with our Luggage; 24h supermarket closeby. Pretty much everything, friendly helpful staff, cosy Irish bar, comfortable room, excellent location for midtown manhattan and grand central, a lot of sights within walking distance. Fantastic bed and super location. Thoughtful staff; I'm diabetic and when I awoke in the middle of the night with low blood sugar and needed a snack, they immediately helped me out. The bartender at the Wheeltapper was apathic and rude. There were a few glitches, such as our room not being ready upon arrival. But they made it up to us by giving us a free dinner and drinks at the adjoining pub while waiting for the room to be ready. one of both elevators was out of order; lots of noise from outside;. Nothing really but if you want a room with a view this isn't the hotel for view. Wished the curtains were functional instead of aesthetic so that I could have closed them to make the room darker. NO FREE WIFI. Quite disappointed as paid a high rate for hotel so assumed WIFI would be free. Spent a fortune contacting back home as no internet useage. Enjoy drinks at the Wheeltapper! Eat somewhere else. The noise level in the bar. I travel alone all of the time and I'm female. I always sit at the bar so that I can feel like I'm among people and not so alone. There was one seat and the bar was so very noisy. The view from our room was not so nice looking in the backyard, some party noise on friday evening. The windows are not sound proof and so the music and noise from the crowd at the patio bar adjacent to the hotel is extremely loud that go on till late night. Room heating is old fashioned and one is not able to control the temperature. It is either hot or very hot, those are the only options. Plus the heater is very noisy. Keep in mind there were record low temperatures in NY during my visit and heating was essential. didn't like the fact that I could only stay 2 nights !!!!. no free wifi, no leisure facilities,. There is no Wifi to connect to. The deluxe room is very small without a dresser. Lack of free hotel WiFi. The wifi in the outside courtyard doesn't work if you sit near the smoking area. It would be nice if the connection was the same in all areas of the courtyard like it is in the restaurant. Nothing!. Improve dinner menu in wheel tapper bar which is attached to hotel and is part of hotel. There was a gap between door and floor which light came through. Told the front desk and they apologised very sincerely.. I don't experience anything unpleasant. No wifi, and 15 dollars a day to use. No computer access if u didnt have your own. Didn't expect this from a 300 dollars a night hotel. Had 1meal in restaurant attached which was only mediocre. Leaving. Room we would have had looked out onto an air shaft. Unattractive, to say the least. 1.The curtains in the room I stayed in (Room # 217) was blocking the air flow coming from the AC. I had to tie the curtain in a way to allow the AC air to flow naturally into the room instead of being blocked behind the curtains. 2- No mini bar. 3. the view from my window was the internal building shaft!. We liked everything. The fact that I could not stay longer. :(. mancanza di wirless gratuita. rooms on lower floors and looking bar side are quite dark. so it is better to ask for a room looking towards street. No Fox News! Slighty noisy from the patio below.
