I have stayed here for just one night and again for seven consecutive nights, and each time I have had a lovely, spacious, clean room with a large bathroom and all the amenities such as coffee maker, fridge, microwave, iron, WiFi, etc. You can pick up a free newspaper in the lobby every day. The atrium is great for quiet study. The lobby staff is lovely, although the cleaning staff wasn't observant if you left the room late in the morning. There are two places to eat and a coffee bar right in t.
all reviews » The value of the hotel was excellent considering the fact that my family was in New Orleans for a major festival and all the other major hotels were too high. I like the easy check-in, the front desk staff was pretty friendly. The rooms were very spacious, we reserve the standard room and there were 3 people in my room, and we were very satisfied with the space and the view from our room. The cleanliness of the carpet and bathroom were ok, They could stand to steam clean the carpets and look ou. The housekeeper that was for our room (or floor), was sloppy, uncaring, unprofessional and was very rude (the only bad apple in the bunch). The (manager or rep) for the hotel, Louis', came right away to inspect our complaint. He addressed the problem immediately and credited my card for the inconvenience, which I did not expect; what a nice surprise. He was adorable, professional, and just absolutely perfect in manners and etiquette. Aside from the annoyance with our one housekeeper, I would hi. Being first time travelers to New Orleans, the Brent House is in a perfect location. It's not in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Canal St and the Quarters area, but close enough if you want to experience those activities. We would definitely stay there again. The staff is helpful and nice. Nice clean hotel and rooms. If you stay in the remodeled rooms, the beds, linens, decor and overall appeal is very good and worth the extra money. It was very convenient to stay if you are having tests done or appointments at Ochsner Clinics and/or Medical Center. The decor was fantastic. The newly remodeled room was very comfortable. The newly remodeled rooms were so nice. The sheets were thick but a little rough. THe bed was excellent and very comfortable. We will be staying there again soon. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. They even helped us copy some e-mails we needed. They were wonderful. The room was gorgeous. We would highly recommend this hotel. Our room was very clean , bed comfortable..welcoming staff excellent ,cheerful and helpful ,nice atrium ,gym ( didn't use but available ) clean. The room was very clean, quiet, and tastefully furnished. The two queen size beds were comfortable and the location was convenient. We were visiting our daughter and her family and it is only 3 miles from her house. Very clean and comfortable. My son was having a procedure at Ochsner's Medical facility so the convenient location was important. Exceptionaly friendly and helpful staff.Parking always available and reasonably convenient. Everything. Location. The snack shop on the way into the hotel was being renovated, which was inconvenient. We were there for a holiday week, and the cleaning staff was less attentive than in the past. The pool closed at 10pm, which being in New Orleans the party city, no one is really in their room that early, so we were not able to utilize it at all. The water pressure in the shower was awful and the parking was confusing, but once we figured it out it was pretty straight. And since the Hotel is attached to a hospital, it got to be pretty boring because their was absolutely nothing to do at the hotel. There was construction at this time and it was very hard to find our way to the front entrance (initially). But, Louis' also came to our rescue on that too. He stayed on the phone with me and guided me right to the front door where he met us outside with open arms and an apology and the construction wasn't even part of the hotel. Being attached to a hospital was no major concern, but having to utilize two different elevators in two different locations to go to our room after parking in the garage was a bit exhausting, but the cost of the room for our stay made up for any issues we had. If you stay in the older non-remodeled rooms, the feel is worn, dingy, it was smelly, and sort of unclean, though I am sure it was clean. The stained carpet was not attractive. The ice machine on our floor (6th) was out for at least the 10 days we were there. There was a hair on my toilet. I called for housekeeping and they came within 10 minutes. Could have used more full sized bath towels. I forgot my eye makeup remover and they had a disposable towlette one. How cool was that!!. Parking and entrance was a little different with condstruction going on but it worked out ok. Elevators smelled of urine?. That it is a hotel connected to a hospital which is great if you have family member(s) hospitalized ,no restaurant (vending for hot and cold food ) ,construction (taxi driver ask if I had the right address ,stunned as well ) ,hard to get taxi service ,not near anything open,stated close to bourbon street or French quarter..not really ...but the town was sold out ..would not stay here again. This was a little treat for my grandsons just before the start of a new school year. We were given a lovely room but by 8am repairs began in the room adjacent to ours. The hotel was not fully booked and I cannot believe that management did not know that the room next door was scheduled for repair work. The front desk staff should have blocked off all rooms adjacent to a room where power tools will be used during am hours the next day. I have trouble walking a long distance and our room was very far from the garage. The air conditioning was set on 90 with the fan on low but it was 60 degrees in there. We turned the fan off and it took it until 1AM to warm up a bit. The bedding was not warm enough. Uncomfortable, lumpy mattresses. No lounge in hotel. Location a bit far from NO, but I understand that due to being affiliated with Oschner Hospital. A little bit long distance from city centre. Fifth floor hallways need refreshing and paint. We stayed on 1st floor last time and it was much nicer. Renovation construction (May 2013) makes access to hotel difficult or confusing. Approx 6 miles from French Qtr and Central Biz District - must take cab there and back each time - but I knew this going in - no complaints - nice facility. There was not a coffee pot in the room. Had to go downstairs for early morning coffee. I didn't realize it was a cancer hospital when I booked it. We came down for jazz fest and just felt out of place. Wonderful hotel. no restrants near, hard to get a cab to go to town. Hard to find Hotel entrance amongst Hospital designated areas. Too sterile, but then again it's attached to a hospital. My room was in the section of hotel which had not been remodeled and the room, while clean, was showing its age--dripping faucet, worn carpet, non-working lamp, etc. While I was comfortable staying so close to a hospital setting as a former hospital chaplain, other family members visiting us were traumatized by memories of being with loved ones through their deaths at hospitals. So, people have to know how close and connected the hospital is to the hotel and prepare mentally for that. the carpet in our room was stain and it made you feel it was also dirty. Public transport was available, but bus /trolly connections difficult. It is the hotel for the Oschner medical center. It's a place to stay while loved ones are recieving care at the hospital and we weren't made aware of this during our booking. Still a great stay though. Building under construction Lack of in hotel restaurant on weekend. The food was terrible at the Brent House. You had to leave the Hotel to eat. Pricey. No problem. location from bourbon street. No complaints. No complaints. more food available. Difficult to find entrance/lobby. You think you are going to walk thru a hospital to get to the hotel. It would be nice to have a different rate for a family member there while one is being hospitalized at Ochsner.
