The price was great, location convenient, owners were very nice and accomodating. The coffee they serve at breakfast is wonderful, plenty of choices for a free Motel spread breakfast too. The rooms were very clean and comfy. Just perfect for a weekend getaway. We're planning on a return trip, no reason to take a chance on another place since we already know what to expect here and had a great experience. This time going up there I had my daughter and nephew with us and was actually looking for something that would accomodate with the kids. After looking online at several different outrageous prices my husband and I decided to go back to Del Monte Pines and see what they would offer. This hotel for us is the perfect blend of special and upmarket with perfect service without being posh, pretentious or stuffy. We had 2 perfect nights. The location is fantastic, the decor is upmarket contemporary, the rooms and views unbeatable - in fact we just couldn't fault anything. This will definitely be my first choice on my next visit to Monterey. It's just a little outside the main "city," but that means instead of a 3-minute drive to downtown, it's a 5-minute drive - a fair trade given the outrageous cost of lodging in downtown or Cannery Row.
