The location of the hotel was convenient to everything on the beach.It was close to all amenities and restaurant district and not far from the beach. Staff were friendly. I have stayed on more than one occasion and its always a pleasant stay!!. The location was perfect. Two blocks from the beach and three blocks from Lincoln Avenue. Great position in a wonderfull zone in centre. Friendly staff, perfect location. Excellent value for the money. One of the most reasonably priced rooms in South Beach and one of the best locations.Where the hotel is located. Location; price. Location,neighborhood,price. location. Nice and interesting environment, close to many attractions of South Beach. location. Double De luxe room: 120cm bed, nothing deluxe in that room. Big dissapointment. Charged more than my booking says. Happily we moved to another fantastic hotel. The room had a safe but it was non functional.When we stayed in the hotel on the 12th February, the hotel room was very clean and tidy, however there was a lot of noise coming from a club downstairs, this noise carried on until 5 am so we were not able to sleep very well, the noise was very loud (I could see the beat of the music in a glass of water next to my bed.). It is a no frills hotel, but everything is close, so it was ok.No coffee and tea making facilities. Cockroach in the closet,room interior. small room, the key to unlock the gate in the second building was not working appropiately. No elevators, no Wireless Internet in the rooms, a lot of noise during the nights due to the nearby restaurants. booked a deluxe room but was given a standard room while the staff tried to convince me it was a vip room. Only when I did not accept this I was given the room I originally booked. Everything went wrong here. Double deluxe turned out standard single, 120cm bed!!! They charged more than my booking says. We moved to another hotel and happily got fantastic roomandservice elsewhere...It's more a hostel than a hotel so I didn't like it so much and will recommend it only to backpackers.

One of the Clay Hotel’s most notorious claims to fame (and there are quite a few) is the presence here of the infamous gangster Al Capone in the early 1930s. It is said he ran his gambling ring from here. Al Capone was known to be a dangerous, violent gang lord, but he and his circle were so slick that he could never be charged with any of his crimes.
The most famous piece of filming to feature the Clay Hotel were episodes of the 1980s police show, Miami Vice. The Clay’s unique backdrop was used in both the pilot episode and the final episode of the first season, and, overnight from the first showing, the Clay Hotel became instantly recognized and hugely popular as a place to stay in Miami.
