I always stay at the Pagoda. It has been my favorite place to stay in Honolulu for over 20 years. attitude of staff at reception , very inviting. The staff is so friendly and helpful. Quiet. number of beds, location, full size refrigerator. Central location. Fair walking distance from the hotel to Waikiki beach. beautiful gardens.

Herbert T. Hayashi, the visionary owner of the Pagoda Hotel complex, was inspired by a keen appreciation of nature when he developed the hotel and the dramatic koi fishpond that gracefully winds around the famous Pagoda Floating Restaurant and Japanese garden.

Koi, the famed Japanese ornamental carp and cousin of the common goldfish, is a freshwater fish that has been treasured for centuries as a symbol of good luck, courage and longevity. Records of the carp date back about 2,500 years.
