I loved the unit we stayed in (2 bedroom villa) and enjoyed using the fireplace and jacuzzi tub. The resorts pool was nice as well. It could have been a little warmer, but I love really warm pools. The scenery around the resort was beautiful and peaceful. We stayed in a villa h119 which was perfect...furnished nicely, very clean, and more spacious than we thought it would be. We had no complaints and plan to go again and hope for the same accommodations.
all reviews » We really enjoyed being in a multi-room townhouse. Really don't like typical hotel rooms. We were able to relax in front of a fireplace and there were two bathrooms and a kitchen. Paisano's had the best pizza I've ever eaten! Rooms were adequate. I wouldn't call this a 'luxury' resort. Beautiful grounds. The resort was very comfortable, and we enjoyed the restaurants on site; we also liked the canoes, etc. on the lake. The resort is beautiful and it is always relaxing to stay there. Just enough activities to keep everyone happy. Beautful setting with deer running through the forest. Excellent location for meetings and to just relax. Ambience Dinner at lodge was excellent Good value for the price Loved having spa right there. We stayed in a one bedroom vila, which was a very quiet and relaxing environment. Loved the furnished kitchen and the spacious rooms. Everything was great. We like every thing we come at least three times a year. Staff were excellent, Santa and kiddy crafts were great. Great staff, god restaurant and beautiful location. The secluded part of our condo, very quiet. Perfect for a wedding anniversary retreat. Lake Galena and being able to rent boats. The 1-befroom villas are spectacular!. Everything was first class. villa was nice. Peaceful, fall colors. beautiful area. Great food. The grounds were beautiful. With 4 small children (ages 6, 5, 3, and under 1) it is difficult to have the resort so spread out because they get antsy and want to get to their destination immediately, but other than that it was a wonderful stay. It rained the whole weekend, but you can't control that!. $18 daily 'resort' charge. We didn't use any of the resort amenities that this covers. Just add $18 to the cost of the room so I don't feel like I'm paying for something I didn't get. Some of the wait staff was most definitely local and overly familiar- we don't particularly like being called 'hon', etc. Bathrooms in lodge rooms are a little dated. Wish they had a beach area on the lake with activities for families. Also an outdoor pool and hot tub would be a nice addition. nothing. Had to track down spa staff. Didn't understand ahead of time that we could only get in spa thirty minutes early. Wanted to spend more tome in meditation room. We were a significant distance from main hotel, which had spa, exercise facility and restaurants. Don't like resort fees since we didn't do anything but stay in our town house and that will prevent me from staying many nights at one time. Pool changing area was not vey clean. Nothing. A bit expensive . . . but worth it. The room is a little dated ex: decor. Galena closes down pretty early on weekends!. No refrigerators or microwaves in the rooms. I had a wake up call for 6:am and she call at 6:25 a.m. and apogised for the late call. room was ok but not worth the money. felt like we were in a basement room. Mattress was too hard. Our room was not clean. I opened up a fresh towel after a shower and there was dried blood on it. it did not even look like it had been washed. since we were leaving, i didnt not make a fuss over it and used a beach towel i had.
