Everything! My husband & I stayed here for a week and it was worth it. Check in: Quick & easy, you just give your name and the $20 deposit and you get your room key. Simple. The Room: Cleanliness is a huge deal for me and I was completely satisfied with our room. The staff obviously busts their butts to keep this place in line. Getting the prepared list of surrounding useful facilities and attractions from Michael (the owner) was very nice. Very clean and cozy inside and outside. Walking distance to the beach (app. 1km) Efficiency room with full kitchen and big grocery store across a street (with great B.B.Q. ready to eat chicken) solves the food issue without making you to spend big $$$ at expensive restaurants. The rooms were large and as we had just come off a cruise, they were able to get us into our room by 10:00 am. Came with a kitchenette which was nice but no shampoo/conditioner provided. Across the street from a drug store and supermarket. The staff were remarkable and provided a really good map. They also have a computer in the lobby you can use complimentary. The location is also great! 7-10 minutes walking distance (direction: south) from the beach, across the street from Winn Dixie, 5 minutes distance from McDonald's and Dunkin Donuts. The young man at the desk literally came running out of the office to help me when he saw me pulling my bag up the stairs. The room was very clean and the kitchen well equipped. The windows in the room are sealed so you can not open it which may bother if it's hot and you don`t want to leave AC running for the night. But the windows in the bathroom and kitchen (if you have one) can be opened. Farther north along the beach than we would have liked. That was our fault and has no reflection on the hotel. Wifi is free but doesn't work in the rooms, only outside in the courtyard. The only negative is that we use the swimming pool of the hotel next door, which is less than one minute walking. I spoke to the gentleman at the desk about this and he said he would tell the owners. For anyone who is at all sensitive to fragrance it would be difficult. My room was ok, but when my son and granddaughter arrived the scent in their room was unbearable. They were willing to change his room, but they were fully booked. By the next day it had aired out somewhat so he stayed there. Nothing. I couldn't connect to the Wi-Fi at all but since I had a laptop i could use the word internet link which worked like a charm. If closer to I-95, Miami trips easier, but that isn't the fault of Galt. Outdoor ambience rather skimpy, but still... fine for the price. So I really don't have negatives?. Did not have the safety of an upper floor room in a big hotel. Easy for crooks to break in. One of the beds restricted access to the bathroom and closet area. Pool was at the building next door (shared with different hotel). Have no complaints. Keeping in mind the value for the money, there were minor inconveniences that are probably overall balanced out by price. Some of the clean towels had long hairs in them (probably a washing machine-related issue), and our specific unit (with kitchnette) has mosquitos in it (everyone in the family got bit, and we visibly saw them flying around the room). Official beach access is about 4 long blocks. (Unofficial is a block and a half). the wasn't anything that I found not to my liking. it was to far to the attraction,im not a brinker so the bar is not a big deal to me but althought then that the hotel is great. going home to the snow in pennsylvania. it would be nice to have hairdryer. no swimming pool in house. Not the hotel's fault but there seems to be no easy beach access as giant high rises block access. I just walked or took the bus to a public beach. Nothing! Everything was great. Didn't like that we had to walk over to other hotel to use the pool. Its was about 5 blocks from the beach. I don't like the iron fance between nationles of our small planet. Couldn't find anything I didn't like!!. The room was a bit stuffy and the air conditioning was inefficient.
