We were able to get our room by 1:00 pm already. That was really appreciated as we needed to get our handicapped daughter out of her chair after our drive. We had trouble getting to get the TV in the living area to work-we contacted staff and they were able to fix it and real very friendly and pleasant. We were recommended to stay here by a friend and were glad we were. It was a pleasant experience. It allows an excellent view of the ships going under the lift bridge. Hopefully we .

The ships in the canal were absolutely amazing, the binoculars in the window and the wake up calls that are offered in the middle of the night for the ship watchers is a great touch. Small hotel, great location, walk to shops and restaurants, beautiful scenery, on the water, great staff, comfortable and quiet sleeping, very clean, balcony, ample parking... and NOT a chain hotel. Great for a stay in Duluth... couples or families. We liked the proximity to the Duluth Harbor and ship traffic. It was great being able to walk over the bridge and enjoy the Canal Park district. The staff was extremely helpful and pleasant. We would definitely stay again in the future. Saw 5 ships go through the canal. The room was very comfortable. We loved how close it was to downtown,canal park and all the shops and resturants. We had three people in our room but there were only two washcloths and two hand towels in a room situated for sleeping four. There was an ample supply of bath towels in the bathroom. Also there was only one large towel by the sauna. I would recommend some hand grips for getting out of the sauna. I have MS so some additional assistance would have helped. Our parking spot was rather small for our van and no lift room. It was a little pricey. The office lounge is too small for breakfast and gets too crowded. It would have been good to have a few more bits in the room, like a safe, for example. The hotel was not cheap, so a better breakfast choice would have been great. There also wasn't any room service, which would have been nice, especially as I suspect the hotel particularly appeals as a romantic option. Window treatment did nothing to block the early morning light and I woke 2 hours earlier than hoped for; the hbo channel couldn't be found even though there was an hbo guide in the room implying it should be available... Price was a little stiff for the size and location of room that we had. Felt like that price would have been sufficient for canal side rooms. There was not a thing that I didn't like. Thanks. Could you serve boiled eggs at breakfast?!?. there is no pool, and we were not told that the room we rented did not have a view of the lift bridge or the water, which is why we wanted to stay here. Lobby closes early, one of our room keys didn't work and we couldn't get it fixed. Wished there had been a toaster available for toast .Also the wi fi didn't work very well in our room. Absolutely nothing. Some of the other guests were a bit noisy. All was great. Noisy when ships came through. A little pricey. Only a view of the parking lot unless you want to pay even more. Booked to late to get the best room. There wasn't anything about the hotel I didn't like. What I didn't like was how when I tried to find their phone number on the internet all I found was a link to letsbookhotel.com, which didn't list the phone number anywhere. The blinds kept falling apart. Someone needs to meticulously put them back together all the same direction. i asked for a canal view and thats what i booked,when we got to the hotel they said no canal rooms were available.Thats why we booked the hotel so we could watch the ships,very disfatisfyed... Bed/mattress was uncomfortable. The bridge location and it's warning bells makes for interupted sleep. If I was on vacation, I would probably want to pay up for a room with a view, as the view from non- water facing rooms isn't great. Continental breakfast was poor. tv channel selection hard time finding room due to layout. Low water pressure, long time to get hot water and poor wi-fi. Doors slamming in different rooms. Easy to add the mechanism to make the door not slam. Also hot tub takes way to long to fill. Cannot think of a specific thing.. I have no complaints. breakfast could use a lil upgrading. The bed (not very comfortable) despite plentiful pillows and the breakfast (wish there'd been more options). Nothing. The only complaint I have and it's a small one is the side windows, persons in adjacent rooms could see into your room if they tried, what was architect thinking, don't worry just pull the shade down. Like I said not a huge problem. The food for breakfast.
