  Wonderful step back in time. Details of the Gold Rush era run through out the hotel. The restaurant is incredible no hard tack there. Fabulous food. The staff were all dressed in period attire that added to the experience and they were friendly, knowledgeable and very accommodating.   Very nice old-fashioned hotel within the historic Columbia state park. Room decoration is awesome. Looks like we stepped back to the beginning of the 20th century but with modern comfort. Breakfast was excellent, served by people dressed in the old way. A wonderful experience - The architecture of the hotel and the furnishings. We especially like... what people say » d the 2nd story sitting room - we spent time there relaxing. It was so quiet and comfortable.

  I liked the cottage. It was a 3 bedroom house with kitchen and the best of all, no internet or tv.. We spend the time outdoors, climbing rocks or hiking on trails. This is a state park, so deer were sleeping in our yard. Yosemite was close by along with lots of lakes. - cottage was clean
