Rylin (the concierge) was an absolute "model employee" for your hotel. As a business owner myself, I truly valued the positive attitude and work ethic he displayed every day we spent at the hotel. To put it simply, he was phenomenal. The Driskill is awesome, historic and charming, walking through the ground floor is an experience itself. Service is attentive, rooms well kept. Location on 6th Street is superb for downtown, eating & nightlife.

Definitely not the usual sterile corporate chain hotel. the Driskill is a luxury hotel in downtown Austin. Perfect location, beautiful room, comfortable bed, luxury bed linens, excellent service and delicious 1886 restaurant in hotel with outdoor seating. Everything, From the moment of check-in to check-out. Friendly and helpful staff, The hotel it self was beautiful, best room service We've ever had. Clean room , with confort and beautiful decoration. In the heart of 6 th street , walkin distance from restaurants , bars.. The room was really nice and the cleaning staff did a fantastic job every day. The downstairs bar is undeniably cool. Very good location, staff generally helpful and accomodating, overall comfortable room that was appropriately priced. The location couldn't be beat; the shower was good, the room had beautiful high ceilings. The grand old hotel of Austin, charming and elegant. Great bar, staff are excellent. The Driskill is a beautiful historic building. The valet were friendly and helpful. For the price of the rooms, I would have liked a complimentary breakfast included. The hotel bakery is however excellent. the elevators. they are old, slow, and shaky. No parking. Room 427 looking at the AC compressors downstairs excess noice. Ask to change and end up 533 with the hallways AC unit above the door. Offer to change again , but settle for ear plugs. For $325.00 a night I think I should not had to have this issue. Yes you are a landmark , but price is pretty modern... Staff were snooty and unfriendly, very unlike everyone else we met in Texas. Car parking, which included a valet, was expensive. Room was dimly lit, probably to hide that it could have used some refurbishing. Carpet was worn and musty but bathroom and sheets were clean and the staff immediately accomodated an air filter for the mustiness. The 1886 breakfast bar didn't seem to offer much in the way of light options. Our room was quite small; no coffee maker; bed was not very comfortable; price was high. The coffee at the coffee bar in the morning isn't that great but this is a minimal (and my only) complaint. *Poor communication between letsbookhotel.com and the hotel. Reserved 2 rooms hotel showed only 1. *BEWARE ROOM 431 HAS A SMALL CLOSET BUT NO CHEST OF DRAWERS. Requested one be brought to the room but none arrived. Had to live out of a suitcase for 4 nights! - FOR SHAME!!!. Loved it all!. Bathroom was too small. Small rooms, bathrooms "tired". My room looked out onto ugly air condition units. When I pulled the drapes closed, the room was very dark. This problem was made worse due to the fact that the lights above the bed did not work. The outlet in the bathroom also did not work. I expected more from this hotel.

From Bergstrom Airport: Exit the terminal and follow highway 71 West to IH35. Follow IH 35 North to the 6th-12th Streets exit. Exit and turn left on 6th Street. Travel Five blocks to Brazos Street and turn right. The Driskill valet is immediately on your left.
