Whilst in Dubai 4 of us booked a Culinary Flight at Burj Al Arab. What a fantastic evening!!!! you basically have a 5 course dinner but you have each course in a different restaurant, a great way to sample the delights of these fantastic restaurants. Cost per person for us was 990 Dirhams per person which equated to about £165 . Firstly, yes, there is construction work nearby the hotel, but this is Dubai, and there is construction work everywhere! Did it affect our stay at the hotel - no! The rooms are a lovely size, with the most comfortable beds. Rooms have a small balcony with 2 chairs and a small table. Bathroom is fantastic, full bath, 2 sinks, walk in shower - with the shower head coming out from the ceiling, so no matter where you stand you will get the full affect of the shower!! I have been to Dubai many times staying in the Mina Seyahi, Hilton Jumeriah and City Centre hotels. We were upgraded to a sea view from our land view club. We were there for the grand prix in Abu Dhabi, the hotel was perfect for down time after the hustle and bustle of the race. We were in Dubai and looking for a hotel for 10 nights. When we walked into the Taj Palace Hotel we decided to stay there if the price was right. We stayed here for 3 nights as part of our honeymoon; the Desert Palm Hotel is a beautiful boutique hotel with great customer service. On arrival we were provided with a room to rest and shower as our suite was not ready (we arrived before check in) which was really nice of the hotel to do! Wow - where to start o.k. so after reading a couple of not great reviews describing hotel as chintzy but luckily reading more recent reviews that were much more positive we booked this extraordinary hotel for the last two nights of our honeymoon. We have been travelling for a month and when we arrived at 5.30am to check in (hours before the 3pm official check in time) were told our room was not quite ready but would we like tea in the lobby whilst this was sorted. 20 minutes later and after the - Karen

The Palace Hotel is located close to where my meetings were being held, so was chosen for convenience and the group rate my employer gets. I was warmly welcomed and taken to my room by Eduardo (nice chap). Upon realising that I had been mistakenly given a disabled room (yes they have that covered), I was given the choice of superior room with a view of the fountain for free.
