Travelling informationPrepaid taxis to the city centre are available 24 hours a day in the Terminal 1 Arrivals hall and typically cost AED 75 to the Angsana Hotel and Suites. Limousine hire can be arranged in the arrivals hall. A bus service runs to the city centre approximately every 10 minutes between 6 AM and 10 PM. There are bus stations opposite both terminals 1 and 2. Bus numbers 4, 11, 15, 33, and 44 run from Terminal 1 to the city centre, passing close to most of the major hotels. Bus 2 runs from Terminal 2 to the city centre, passing close to most of the major hotels. Buses run every 20-30 minutes. A single ticket is AED 2. All prices subject to change.
A reasonable public bus service operates throughout the city from 6 AM to 11 PM; buses run from Deira bus station near the gold souk, and Bur Dubai station on Al-Ghubaiba Rd. Travellers should have the correct change to pay the driver and there are separate seating sections for men and women on board; women usually sit at the front of the bus. In the older parts of Dubai Abras (small wooden motorboats) cross Dubai Creek from early morning until around midnight. Air-conditioned taxis are cheap, safe, and efficient, and can be hailed on the street or pre-booked by telephone.
