The family-run guesthouse is 0.75 miles from York Rail Station and the city centre. It offers great-value rooms with full English breakfasts and Alaskan waffles. A continental breakfast is also available, which consists of juice, milk, crumpets, yogurt, cereal, toast, coffee and tea. The Romley Guest House is less than a mile from all of York's attractions, including the city walls, York Minster and the Jorvik Viking Centre. The Victorian house was built in 1902. It has double glazing and central heating. All rooms have TVs, washbasins, tea/coffee, hot chocolate, biscuits and bottled water. The Romley has a 3-star guest accommodation rating from the AA. It offers en suite rooms, rooms with private showers and rooms with shared bathrooms. There is a lounge, with free tea/coffee available all day and Alaskan Art on the walls. Guests can come and go at any time of day.

The very warm welcome received from the patrons and their willingness to assist us on anything we enquired about whether it be where to eat or short cuts to the centre of York. Would recommend them to all and would not hesitate to stay there again. very pleasant stay from the moment we went thru the front door staff and food excellant. Pleasant,friendly,helpful owner,and served up a very good b/fast.

Helpful and frendly landlord.The owner Bruce was very friendly and helpful.You have to try his waffles for breakfast they are the best.It is close to all the attractions so we did not need to use the car at all. Friendly host and location of the hotel. Everything was fantastic, including food, room,and service. A family member , who was ill,came to visit us on our stay at Romley House,and the staff did everything they could to make him comfortable.They are very understanding and caring people. Close to amenities, friendly hosts, Bruce a real character, wife also nice. My husband had a sore throat and they went out of their way for remedies.Close to the town centre. Friendly owner. great host. The most striking feature about Romley House is the welcome. Bruce, theproprietor, shook my hand warmly on arrival, as if I were a long lostfriend. The bed was comfortable.the host bruce was a mine of local information and made great waffles for breakfast. The host was knownledgeable about the area.Just a little far from city centre.(But maybe not for others.). Bruce got rid of the clowns so I liked everything!!! Waffles!!. WC not in the room. I rated the "value for money" above as "fair", as the cost was towardsthe top end of what I would pay for the type of room (ie non en suite).However, the location and convenience for York City Centre and railwaystation compensated for this, as did the wonderful welcome.The bedside clock radio did not work- informed Bruce but still did not work. No space as we had a family room and there were bunk beds only a foot away from our bed. no ensuite facilities, room was a touch small. Lack of en-suite facility. The price was a little high considering there was no en-suite or internet available.
