What people say
Great locality and closeness (about 200m) to Warwick Castle and a short stroll into the quaint little village. I found the bath slippery and reported this so they sent someone out to buy a bath mat for me to use - now that is service. I also recommend the restaurant - the atmosphere was very pleasant, service friendly and food was good and good value. It's location within warwick ideal for warwick castle. all reviews »
Very good breakfast with excellent black pudding. They changed my room after one night as requested by me. Responsive friendly staff.A great base to visit Warwick and the surrounding areas. A clean and good value for money hotel. Lovely breakfast; Good parking; Convenient location. Convenient for Warwick and Stratford. location: close to the town center. The visit to Warwick castle. Excellent location. The location was excellent, the staff were helpful and willing and the bed was enormous. Old traditional building, on the high street. Bar area nice and relaxing. Warm room.Good central location and friendly, helpful staff. where the hotel was located, friendly staff. good location - central to bars and castle. Friendly, helpfull staff. good value for money. Friendly and Clean. Pleasant, clean, basic hotel. Well situated to centre of Warwick. Check-in and check-out very efficient. Room moderate size, bathroom good size. Perfectly acceptable for overnight business stay. the location was good and the rooms were a good size. the room was very clean and the staff were friendly. Inexpensive. Helpful staff. Basic but acceptable hotel. friendly staff ,good morning meal. A good location and parking. Location, central Warwick. central position. Central location. Comfortable bed. Friendly welcome, characterful old building, in the centre of town, adequate parking. Bedroom smallish but comfortable and clean, with huge bed and good lighting. Strong shower over bath, plenty of hot water.Location very handy for centre of town. Old building with hsitorical interest. Reasonably cheap. English breakfast included. The Hotel was very central for Warwick with free parking, our eveningmeal and breakfast were both cooked well.Bar and restraunt looked nice but I ate elsewhere due to limited veggie options; staff were friendly. we had the king double bed which was very comfortable and plenty of room. The proximity of the hotel to the town centre and shops and restaurants in the area. Pleasant checking in staff, bar facilities and breakfast very good. the closeness to the castle and the town. The bed was comfortable and there were fresh, quality towels.Close proximity to the shops and castle. It was convenient to the Castle which was the venue for the function we were attending.not much. It was a little too warm for my liking and i couldn't open the window in my room but no-one else seemed uncomfortable. The rooms were dated. First night noise from other guests at 2am in the room next door! I realise the hotel has no real control of this, and rectified by room move. The hotel was a little run down, but overall great value for money. Alot of disturbing street noise which led to a restless night. Looks a bit tired, needs updating a bit. the room was very far from the elevator; had to walk too much, open many doors. Breakfast ingredients poor - catering pack sausages, mushrooms, tomatoes. The stairways had not been cleaned properly for a long time and I stood on something hard and gritty on the bedroom floor. The breakfast was adequate but spoiled by tinned tomatoes and mushrooms and amazingly unprofessional service. My colleagues thought the hotel would benefit from a larger bar!. The food at breakfast was good but thats once you figure how it works, there is no one to tell you where to sit, you just get a table and its a free for all. I think there was a member of staff running about that you had to ask for toast and tea but he avoided glances so I never got to find out. Hotel furnishings and fittings a bit tired but comfortable. breakfast was slightly disorganised. In desperate need of decorating, and updating. bed on small side but I am 6 foot plus. Its Time Gordon Ramsey did something about Hotel Menus. Its not just the Lord Leycester too many have pretentious and over fany food on their menus. when staying in a hotel for buisness I would like a selection of Plain and simple dishes.Room was cold on arrival but was warm by the evening. when i asked for a double room i expected to get a double bed however after falling through the middle of the bed i discovered it was 2 singles pushed together.Breakfast was not handled by nearly enough staff - difficulty in finding an empty table that had been cleared of previous person's dirty plates, no cutlery, no cups - food and drink left to run empty. it appears that part of the building is in need of a re vamp, it was dated. Our room on the third floor was very small. The bar and restaurant on the Saturday night was empty and did not look as if they were open. Limited parking. Difficult to find a space in the hotel car park. The hotel is getting a bit run-down. Needs some TLC. There was a hugh stain on my room ceiling from a previous roof leak.breakfast now self service. Floorboards extremeley creaky - never got to sleep until after 3am dueto people next door and upstairs moving about half the night! Showerhad to run for a good 6 mins before hot water came through, what awaste of water!. Looking a little dated, needs a makeover. The hotel is looking "tired" and is in need of refurbishment. Shabby (dangerous) carpets on stairs and in upper corridors the main issue. 'Tide marks' on bath. Noise from church bells behind hotel throughout night kept one of us awake. Decor tired 1970s, needs updatring and more imagination. The building has loads of potential, sadly is poorly presented. Bathroom was not very clean, nasty brown stains round back of toilet and cracked sink. Really dirty windows in bedroom. The private rooms and the passage ways were all in need of some tlc, forthe price (£95) the rooms were small with no drawer space for ourclothes. The carpet in the passage outside our room had a larger hole init the size of a dinner plate which could have been a trip hazard. Thehot water for a shower had to run in excess of 15 minutes before it ranwarm and then it stopped running. Other than the restruant and bar a rambling tired hotel; no heating in bath/shower room; luke warm shower; room had musty smell; limited vegetarian menu;. once out of sight of the reception area the stairways could do with a serious clean up. Superior room should have had a larger bed and television , but bed appeared normal double size and television was dated and only had 5 channels not including sky. Appreciate the hotel is historic but carpets upstairs are worn and floorboards very squeaky directly outside room door.Shower was too slow and luke warm double room was two single beds pushed together and ceiling was cracked. Bearing in mind we had paid extra for a superior room this was disappointing. The 'double' room was small, the shower did not work properly and we had to shower with cold water or the shower did not work at all. We had to brush our teeth with hot water as no cold water came out of the sink taps!. The original room we were allocated was very small. We asked to be moved which we were. However, room was not very warm and the water was only slightly warm so therefore we were unable to have a bath. Tired decor. Scruffy, cold room.room decor and furniture very tired,,,,,cold water pressure very low....tap indices wrong way round.....door lock ancient. We were very disappointed our stay. The room was hot and airless and the shower didn't work at all.Room including bathroom was very small and cramped, the bath and sink were dirty and the bath water came out of the taps brown. The cold tap in the sink gave hot water and the cold tap gave hot. Very old and worn out. In need of redecorating. Superior double notbig so hate to think what double would have been like. Nothingspecial at all.a lot and, if I can be bothered, I may possibly write to complain.
