I also liked the fact that there was secure parking right next to the hotel - great value for central parking in Truro. friendly staff, lovely room with free upgrade, great dinner and breakfast. Apartments are excellent.Location. we liked everything about our stay at The Royal Hotel in Truro, it was ideally situated close to the centre of the city. Although staff were on hand to help we were left to come and go as wanted and not bothered by over enthusiastic staff. We stayed in one of the apartments - it was very stylish and clean. Would definitely go back. We stay in room 35. It was small, but very nice, clean, and well equipped. Very relaxed and good all round.Good sized room, 5ft bed with duvet, everything in very good order. Very pleasant receptionist and catering staff happy to let us have a cereal breakfast 3/4 hour before the official opening time (which was 8:00hrs Sunday morning). The room, situated on the third floor, was excellent-quiet, clean, modern but with lots of character. Unlikely many hotel rooms, bathroom was well separated from sleeping area. Breakfast staff were very friendly. We liked the location, the room was excellent (we did seem to have alot of flies in the room) the staff were very polite and helpful. Rooms newly refurbished. Would have liked a bath, but the shower room was superb. Easy, bright and clean hotel, central location. Easy access to City shops/restaurants/tourist attractions. Car only required for journey to and from Truro.my stay @ manning's Hotel was very good and i would recommend it to other visitors. Good central location.Attractive room. No lift, it`s a long trek upstairs as my husband is not in good health. No lift. Carrying luggage up to the top floor was unpleasant. Breakfast was excellent, but the waiter was clueless. As soon as we sat down, he insisted on taking our order for the hot breakfast. We didn't even have time to look at the menu. I would have preferred to have coffee served, then be given a few minutes before being asked for our hot breakfast order. Abscence of lift. Unusual windows in our room didn`t allow good air circulation - the weather was hot, for once! but did allow noise from the street below, but I can`t really complain, at the price paid. Would prefer fresh fruit than tinned at breakfast but this was minor complaint.They need two people on the reception desk, the poor lady was trying to answer the phone, take bookings and see to the guests. We stayed on the third floor (fourth story). There is no elevator. If you have bad knees or a weak heart, you should definitely mention this when booking.sloping ceiling made the room seem small. Bed was too small and moved as if it was on ice!. It cost a bit to stay there and still have to pay for parking,the hotelsI have ever stayed in hotels before the parking has been free of chargeand it was not including in the room rate!!. no lift- essential for older people who are normally bungalow dwellers.We were not offered any assistance with our bags nor were we offered a room on the first rather than the second floor.the room was very stuffy no air conditioning.

Travelling information
By Car
- Approach Truro on the A30.
- When you reach the roundabout with the wind farm (Carland Cross) take the 2nd exit from the roundabout for Truro (A39).
- Drive along the A39 until you reach the junction with the A390 at the traffic lights.
- Turn right down the hill and pass through another set of traffic lights until you reach a large roundabout.
- Take the 12 o'clock exit and travel another 300 yards to the next roundabout.
- Take the 4th exit from this roundabout into Fairmantle Street, then turn right into Tabernacle Street.
- Take the next left into Lemon Quay, and the Royal Hotel car park is just opposite the Lemon Street and Lemon Quay junction.
Parking is at an additional cost, and there is an NCP car park 400 yards away.
