The Rose and Crown is an impressive Tudor building, once a busy posting and coaching house. Refurbished to modern standards, with many parts of the hotel retaining its original character, with oak beams and Jacobean panelling. The Oak Room Bar & Grill Restaurant offers locally sourced food. Easy access to the M25 Motorway, Gatwick Airport and the Channel Tunnel. Hever Castle, Chartwell, Churchill's home, and Penshurst Place are only a short drive away.

lovely old room with 4 poster bed. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Given choice of rooms on checkin. Friendly, helpful staff. The hotel staff. It was convenient, warm, clean, comfortable and the staff were frendly eficient and polite.very convenient location in central Tonbridge. the room was comfortable and nice and warm.

The location in Tunbridge. Its Location. attended a friends wedding. Warm room and quite quiet. close to the city centre. Menu was limited and room very hot. It would be massively helpful to have a small table in the room. No bedside lighting was disappointing. Furniture in the room could have been more comfortable. Room cold at night. Central heating not working, electic heater provided.TV so small you couldn't see it from more than 3 feet away. No catch on one of the windows, toilet didn't flush properly, Dining room understaffed and had to ask for glasses, cereal bowls etc as they weren't being replaced. Not the waitresses fault, she was on her own with a full dining room. Shabby room; wallpaper peeling off the walls; bathroom was very hard to get in physically as it was so small; where holes in the wall had been filled, these had not been painted over. The tv remote had no back for the batteries and old sticky sellotape was just about holding the batteries in. Noisy road with cars racing late evening; car sat revving outside at 6.30 am.Bathroom needs decorating, plaster work had cracks. The single room bed was not comfortable .Only 2 cartons of milk in roomand I was told that was the rooms allocation but a member of staff didtry to find some extra ones . The floor boards creaked everytime youwalked anywhere in the bedroom The soap/shower container was high onside of the shower so if u wanted it in the bath you had to step intothe bath tub first.Very poor english breakfast for the price.Tasted like it had been cooked yesterday. The prices of drinks in the hotel. The hotel price. The noise outside of the hotel was very audible.poorly trained staff. We payed £95 for the room and the room was very small and the bed was definatly not a double. I woudn't have minded if we payed £60 but felt paid alot of money for not a very nice room.somewhat dated room, smelt fusty not enough car parking. over priced. Poor TV picture, plugs on the floor, mould around the bath, flooring in the bathroom.

The friendliness of the staff and the excellence of the product means that we have been an inn of consequence for over 300 years. The free car park, traditional bar and fine restaurant complement the standard of the rooms and we strive to ensure the satisfaction of all our guests.
