one of the best hotels ive been to. free up grade didnt even have to ask. clean.tidy.so much to do there. free dvds to watch plus psp. gym facility. large beds. lovely grounds. great for picknicks. games outside.hamocks outside. flowershop on site. free bike hire. breakfast included. even free cd hire for your room.this hotel gives you more then a hotel chain. really nice bathrooms too.i would go again.
all reviews » A lovely hotel in beautiful grounds. We stayed one night in a garden room which was quiet and comfortable. We opted for a bar meal in the evening which we enjoyed out on the terrace. Breakfast was presented well and the staff were pleasant and efficient. We will stay there again. The staff were very helpful, I arrived late and the night porter was extremely helpful and worthy of a mention and the hotel did exactly what you want it to do, give you a comfortable, clean, quiet stay ready for a heavy day of business meeting the following day. Beautiful grounds, wish we'd had more time to enjoy them. Exceptional service. Room service was a bit slow, but all other requests were filled quickly and with great concern for our satisfaction. Very modern bathroom facilities, good food. Extensive country club, great place to chill down & wait for Heathrow flight. Gourmet food excellent. Seeing highly fashionable dressed off to Ascot interesting. Beautiful quiet location, a haven and sanctuary from the madness of Heathrow! The little extras in your room, the robe, the mp3 docking station and the breakfast in bed. It certainly felt luxurious. It also had glorious views. We had a room in the old gardeners house in the walled garden.very comfy bed and air con with a fantastic wet room shower.Very quiet. Room was good, staff were firendly, bar food ok. Location, gardens and lake. The bathroom, specially the shower was very good. Bed was comfortable and large. Staff offered room upgrade if we ever returned. Plenty of car parking. The beds were comfortable, food good quality and well cooked, the style. Breakfast and breakfast area Location. Main hotel building and grounds. should have a veg full english breakfast. water in rooms was boiling hot i dont think its regulated nearly burnt myself. apart from that i couldnt fault it. We had a problem with the shower not draining properly. The young man on duty did his best to mop things up for us. We mentioned it when checking out and the receptionist was v apologetic and adjusted our bill accordingly. It was dealt with v well. Small rooms, not all of which had ac. Discrepancies between letsbookhotel.com's descriptions of amenities and the old hotel's actual capabilities. Doona too hot, sheet fixed that. Getting stuck in the delays at Heathrow but if I hadn't I wouldn't have found this gem. Nothing. Garden room - a bit small, wood floor with direct opening to outside in snow meant wet floors, small wardrobe with forward rail meant you had to plan what order clothes went in as it was a pain getting to the back!. Leaking in the ceiling decore. The coffee at breakfast. food too expensive. excellent quality but too high price to repeat often. When I arrived, there were no towels in my room and there was no soap and when I asked for some I was told that they had none. On the second evening, the milk cartons for coffee had not been replaced. The restaurant was expensive and choice was limited. I just wanted a steak & chips but this was not available. I had one meal during my 3 night stay and it cost £46 inc one glass of wine. The meal was well presented but I was still hungry after. Restaurant was booked a the time we wanted to eat. Some basic things were over looked. Check in was not straight forward. No remote for the tv and even after being promised one by a member of staff it never arrived. In the room there was no normal tea bags, just an herbal selection. Kettle did not work in the room and could not get it sorted as all the phones where out of action.When reported at reception in the morning the guy picked up the phone to report it but I had to advise him they did not work!i was not offered a replacement and had to ask for a jug or flack of hot water. I did not receive an alarm call, as a result overslept, missed breakfast and was late for work. When I mentioned this at check out there was no apology or gesture of compensation. Foreign staff that couldn't understand English. Cold, draughty bathroom. Hotel attempting to be "top notch", when it really isn't. My colleague was allocated a small, cold chalet, away from the main house. We should have been informed, as we had booked well in advance. The Garden room we stayed in was very small indeed, basically just space for the bed. Poor sound proofing between rooms. The wardrobe was unusable it was so small. No way to set the room temperature, heating was either on or off. No normal tea in room, plenty of green tea though. Extremely poor Wi-Fi. Very poor breakfast, fatty clearly pre cooked bacon, tinned mushrooms. The best was a very small piece of black pudding. It is not a friendly and relaxed atmosphere, the rooms are far too hot, the showers did not work properly and kept going cold (I tried 3 different rooms and it happened in each one), the menu is limited and no fridge in the garden rooms. A swimming pool would be a worthwhile addition. Garden rooms were small and the heating did not work (Rm 49) I did inform the staff twice! I became ill for 3 days after my stay due to the cold The gym was icy cold Outside walk in the cold from garden room to gym/breakfast room/reception. Our room - was not made aware that there was no bath, 'wardrobe' was totally useless, needs better soundproofing - could hear snoring from the adjoining room quite clearly.
