The five star service started the moment we were greeted at the airport by a key member of staff from the Bella Luce.We were given a short tour of the island and arrived at the hotel , check in was smooth and efficient, we were given a brief show round of the hotel and it's facilities and shown to our luxurious room overlooking the gardens and pool.Throughout our stay the staff were superb, attentive, knowledgeable and friendly.Food and ambience very romantic and 1st class quality. all reviews » Lovely old-fashioned feeling with modern amenities. Professional and nice staff. Rooms are very clean. I stayed in a single room. The room itself was spacious enough but the bathroom was tiny. There was an iron and iron board in the room, which was a big +. Excellent breakfast. The location is a bit inconvenient. Not in walking distance from the town and there really is no restaurants (except hotels own) in waking distance. However bus 81 stops next to the hotel. We arrived on our honey moon and could not have been treated better. The room was lovely as was the food and the care taken by the staff. The location was a short walk to the sea and cliff paths or a 20 min walk to the town. Could not have been z more tranquil place to escape from the crazy. Excellent food all round, breakfast lunch and dinner and well priced with great selection of wine and drinks. Very friendly and attentive staff and management. Good location if you enjoy coastal cliff walks, but also close enough for taxi or bus to St Peter Port. Everything from the decor to the food to the friendly efficient and professional staff. The room, food, location and staff. the staff was very helpful and the food was lovely this was the 2nd time we have stayed and would love to come back. I was missing a cupboard where to hang my clothes. Leaving. Can the swimming pool be open in april - heated maybe with a portable cover. oh and That I could stay 2 nights - I wanted to stay longer. Hotel rooms were rather warm. I wish they could take dogs, but this wasn't possible. The towels were too thin for a luxury hotel. The pool was unheated and it probably needs to be. The room was comfortable but rather gloomy, even on a sunny day and for a top class hotel the pillows were horrible. The other weird thing was that the staff were either top class or really poor. The women who worked in the dining room were excellent, the girl who worked in the bar was not. Colleen on Reception was first class - friendly, helpful, warm and charming, her male counterpart was not!. No faults. poor pillows. Some issues at breakfast, bit of a muddle with the wrong food being brought. It felt tense as there did not seem to be enough serving staff on duty. It was clear that some guests were quite upset, we overheard complaints being made. A pity as it is a lovely place. No lift. the only thing I can complain about was the small tv in such A large bedroom,my laptop had A bigger screen. the 1st night was not comfy the was mattress was very lumpy. The hotel is not a 4 star just a good 3. We chose it because its belongs to the Small Luxury Hotels of the World group of which we have stayed at many locations and this hotel is not up to that standard.
