The gardens are beautiful, it was a pleasure to be in such lovely surroundings. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had dinner in the restaurant and even though there was a wedding in progress we were very well looked after and the food was excellent (thanks chef!). We would definately come back if we needed a hotel again in the area.

Very good only bad experience got locked out late and was approach by police suspecting a burglary.

The situation of the hotel was quiet and picturesque. Bed was large and comfy, room clean - all immaculate. Nice to get bottled water provided. Staff friendly, even though very busy. Excellent choice of breakfast.

Probably just an oversight but no flannels or soap in bathroom. We were already prepared for bath so used the shower-gel instead of going to reception.

Beautiful hotel and surroundings, would definitely stay there again!

Reception staff seemed flustered and service at breakfast was very poorwith tables not being cleared and orders for cooked breakfast comingback wrong. The breakfast itself was lovely and the quality of foodexcellent. I like to think we were unfortunate and had a new member ofstaff serving us and/or they were understaffed on that day!

Apart from the above we both had skin irritation and bad chests after our stay, we both have asthma and belive it was dust or cat hair in the room

The location of my room was very good

Window frames could have been a bit cleaner and the shower was too stiff to turn off. Also there was a problem with the electrics and the trip switch went twice. I could not reach the fuse box so I had to call staff 3 times

Beautiful place, good food.

Had to wait 1.5hrs to check in, in spite of requesting an early check in. The room only had half a roll of toilet roll.

Despite booking 6 months in advance we still did not get the rooms as booked (1 double, 1 twin) this was only communicated 2 days before the stay

Loved the building - apparently they have fre WiFi access too. Very goodsized room in the stables block. Breakfast room service was free for us.

Couldn't get the shower to run warm let alone hot (hot bath water was available). Breakfast room service was a bit late and there was not enough milk, some hot items were cold.

friendly and young staff were generally well intentioned, but the attention to detail was sometimes lacking a bit of professionalism. Wedding arrangements were generally very good.

first room we were allocated smelled badly of cigarette smoke. We were quickly found an alternative.

The gardens were fantastic

TV didn't work properly, the kettle was dirty, couldn't control the heating in the room, the bathroom needed cleaning, sink had no plug, toilet wouldn't flush properly, the shower was difficult to use and control and the bathroom tiles were cracked. If you're thinking about ordering a drink at the bar be prepared to wait awhile... they seem to store most of their stock in the store room.
