    Comfortable cottage with small but nice kitchen. Excellent location close to sea and Brodick. Lots to see and do nearby. My children (8 and 11) liked the space outside including the tennis court. - Lovely cottage. Very clean and in a great location above lamlash.

    After reading some reviews I was a little worried about staying here but please don't let the bad reviews put you off. My stay was wonderful. Easy to find, the receptionist who greeted us was polite, and helped us pay for our parking. The place was very clean, and it was obvious they'd cleaned the room and changed the beds in prep for our stay. Br... what people say » eakfast was basic but tasty. The hotel itself was very quiet, and I didn't expect it to be as there was a lot of football fans staying at the same tim - Comfortable warm room,good clean on suite facilities.I didn't try the breakfast which was included so can't comment on that ,the lady who checked me in told me where to park ,gave me a large map and gave me good directions to where i was heading !.

    I booked this hotel as I was arriving late by train into Glasgow and getting a very early train the next day, so wanted something inexpensive in a central location. I was pleasantly surprised at how welcoming and helpful the member of staff on reception was, he give me advice about getting a late meal/take away from nearby Sauchiehall Street, and a... what people say » rranged an early breakfast for me at 6 am the next day ( which he served to me himself!) and even printed me a walking map to the station. Excellent - All staff extremely friendly and helpful. Atmosphere very welcoming. Hot water available all the time, fresh towels daily and room cleaned thoroughly. Super breakfast. Internet access, couldn't have asked for more, really enjoyed our stay.

    The view of the harbour from my room. The hotel was central - very near rail and ferry links. The accommodation was compact and comfortable. Staff were very helpful and welcoming, but unobtrusive - a homely hotel with a pleasant pub / bar. - the hospitallity was excellent from staff and there local clientell.....nothing was any bother to them ,,,to... what people say » ensure your comfort....and the food was freshly cooked everytime which i really enjoyed......will be returning soon

    The staff were very helpful and went out of their way to be so. The location is excellent, being in a large park area with lots of walks etc. It's location Meir a busy intersection of the highway means that you need to ask for a room not facing the road .     I really loved staying here! Val is such a nice host. There's an excellent breakfast with lots of varieties and you fill out a paper with what you want -excellent service (I recommend the scrambled eggs). On my last day I had to leave early and I got a lunchbag with cheese rolls, juice, yoghurts, fruits etc., which was just perfect. Nicely, restored large house across from Oban bay, just far enough out of town to be walkable and quiet at same time. Beautiful views of Kerrera and sunset.     When I read the reviews on here, I thought this place is too good to be true but it wasn't! I had a beautifully decorated room that was really comfortable and clean, almost forensically clean! The sheets weren't just fresh, they smelled fresh!     Raniven is a first class guest house. We had a room on the top floor. It was quiet and very comfortable with two easy chairs - a real treat!     Very comfortable nicely furnished family suite with great beds. Suited our family of 4 with kids 6 & 8 as we had own sitting room space in evening. Suite has amazing views of the sea/port, and located away from noise of main town, but only a short walk along the promenade to get to shops, port for ferries and seafood restaurants.     Everything was 1st class. Spotlessly clean guest house, friendly owner and staff, lovely comfortable bedroom with very large separate bathroom. Although we had an external bathroom, there were no complaints at all because the bathroom was really huge. Quite a selection of complementry drinks in the room. Free bottle of mineral water which is uncommon for bed and breakfast. The guest house is very homely and tastefully decorated. The much ravelled about eggs benedict is really awesome, a good selection of cerals and fruits too. No complains at all. Beautiful beach walking distance away.
