This was without a doubt, one of the most enjoyable UK stays I have ever had. The hotel exceeded my expectations. Though rooms were small, they were well appointed, efficiently arranged and meticulously kept. The staff was stellar, the restaurant exceptional and the location as perfect as could be. I have stayed at the Hilton Caledonian previous... what people say » ly but will stay at the Apex for all future visits - The staff were really helpful, nothing was any bother. There is NO better place to stay. The staff is simply wonderful... Especially Harvey! This is the most ideal location.. You are by everything! It made my hop on hop off tour kind of pointless because of the fact you are that close to everything...and the flats were fantastic!! 1) Location for sight-seeing.
2) Facilities included kitchen and washing machine in apartment. The kitchen was well-equipped for its purpose as a travel accommodation.
3) Separate bedroom, so if you travel with someone whose sleep schedule is different than yours, they will not have to wake you up.
I don't know how much the company will accommodate your request, such as for a quiet apartment, but they supposedly do have different properties under their management, so it's worthwhile to ask.

If you want to stay out of central downtown, are driving a car and take buses and tours, this works very well. Some signs of wear and tear here and there but it has the character of an older building which was exactly what I was looking for in Scotland. The downstairs sitting room with snacks and bar fridge a nice feature. Business office available.
