Overall quality of the place was really high including most comfortable bed I have ever slept, so clean and big room).. John was at there when we need and he is very helpful, friendly and kind. After staying one day you feel like you are at home more than a hotel. Location is 15-20 mins to the center and 5 mins by bus which is really good. We walk... what people say » ed all the time and it was no problem at all. There are nice restaurants to have your dinner 5 mins from the place. Great value for the money. I will - Room was very nicely and comfortably furnished, inpeccably clean that it made me feel at home immediately. There were nearby bus stops but I had preferred to walk (about 15 minutes to Waverley Station). A large supermarket (Tesco) is 5 minutes away and so are a number of restaurants. I went on a day tour that set off early in the morning and John (the owner) gladly served breakfast earlier than usual for me, so that was great hospitality. If it were not fully booked, I'd have loved to stay at M

Pauline, the owner, was extra-friendly, she even gave me a ride on my first day at the city! She informed me about bus details and anything else I've asked her for, helped me book a taxi and find shops I needed and she was always concerned about my welfare and willing to please. The place is a 10-minute bus ride to the city centre but that was nev... what people say » er a problem as by taking the bus I was able to see the residential neighbourhood which was a different touch to the trip. When I go back to Edinburgh - Pauline and George the owners were so friendly and Pauline's humour was everything we'd hoped from a true Scots, a very witty woman! They went out of their way to make us feel at home and their home was so cosy and relaxed. The breakfast was excellent and really filled us up for the day. The dog features made it look even cosier and no dogs were seen unless we asked to see them, who were adorable. We highly recommend this lovely guest house. - The manager - Pauline - was extremely friendly and helpful. Rooms were spacious enough, clean and warm, bathroom the same, breakfast was also great (we could choose btw English and Continental). It is a bit further from the city centre but there is a bus stop in front of the house and two buses go regularly to the centre, it takes about 30 minutes so no trouble. The place is very calm and quiet so you can have a decent sleep, which is great.
