    This was our first trip to Edinburgh. We were hoping to book a hotel closer to the city centre, but as ours was a last minute booking, we were limited for choice. As it turned out, the Britannia was just perfect for us and we're now very pleased we chose it. The hotel itself is ugly, massive, chain-like, but people are okay, walking distance to town attractive, there is a park and a river road, so, I recommend this place!

    Central location, room was fine, bathroom clean, shower water hot, breakfast not free but very reasonable.     First of all, the location was extraordinary. The sea (Firth of Forth) is just behind the hotel and you wake up, seeing big steamships and small fisher boats on the water. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Especially at the restaurant. The rooms are tidy, have a huge TV, a sweet bathroom with bathtub and shower. Just in - This was our first stay at a Premier Inn. The hotel is clean, the rooms were spacious. The staff was very helpful. The views of the water were beautiful and our family enjoyed walking along the quay. The breakfast served at the restaurant next door was perfectly fine. We ate at the nearby Prezzo for dinner.     Location, cleanliness, facilities, everything as good as could be hoped for at this price. On-site parking a bonus, but check how to find it first ! Easy walking distance to shops and bars, roadworks are a pain, but they'll be over soon enough.     Very suprised and impressed with this hotel, well presented and staff were polite and helpful. Room was very clean and quiet at the back of the building. Booked into restaurant for evening meal, everybodys food was excellent and again very friendly staff. Booked purely for location for Edinburgh marathon. - Everything...except the noise outsid... what people say » e the room. We still enjoyed our stay, we complained about the noise on leaving.     I arrived at a very unusual time. Whilst I didn't meet a member of staff the help I received over the phone was fantastic. This is a value for money hotel, which is what I wanted. To be honest I couldn't fault the place. They even contacted me after I'd stayed to let me know I'd forgotten something and offered to send on!     Having never stayed at this type of lodging we were a little hesitant and unsure what to expect after reading the reviews; however we were pleasantly surprised! We had an amazing view of the castle, and a large spacious room. Location is close to everything Edinburgh has to offer if you don't mind hills, there are lots of taxis nearby as well.     The Dene Guest House was the perfect choice. Not only I was provided with a clean, spacious and beautifully designed en-suite bedroom with great views but I had as well the valuable help of Ilio and Hamish in every possible aspect (from giving advice on how to spend leisure time to pointing me in the right direction whilst I was looking for a job ... what people say » in the city). The owners are extremely friendly yet never intrusive or insistent. I am already planning to go back soon! - Perfect location, close to centre of town. Received a very warm welcome, lovely people running the bed and breakfast in a relaxed, efficient way, they couldn`t have been more helpful. My room was clean, comfortable and had all I needed, the house itself is a beautiful old Edinburgh town house.     We travelled by train as it was much cheaper than staying in the centre of Edinburgh. With trains every 30 minutes until late at night the 10 minutes on the train was well worth it with the Hotel just accross the main road from Newcraighall station. The Cuddie Brea next door had a wide choice menu. - Great location - easy to access from the city bypass. Good price. Easy to travel to city center by train or bus. The first impression was good because it has a quaint relaxing look about it on the outside, that shouted "You're on holiday in Scotland". Parking was easy. The staff was fantastic, helping cheerfully with whatever I asked about.

    What a fabulous Guest House. In a true Scottish Manner I was met at the door and made to feel absolutely welcome. The staff were very professional and friendly and couldn't do enough for us, especially at breakfast. Our breakfast was a true Scottish munch - very well presented and not thrown together.     Lovely hotel, very friendly and helpful staff. Room was very clean, bed was extremely comportable,great value for money, will be back next time I'm in Edinburgh - The staff were extremely friendly and my partner and I had a truly fantastic time. We will definitely be returning within the next 12 months
