    The staff were hospitable, helpful, had sufficient communication skills. My room (no.9, with a private bathroom) was warm and comfortable, the radiator worked all right and just in case I was still too cold, I got an electric heater. The room is on the top floor with a lovely view on the garden, which also ensured quiet nights. Breakfast was - The owner was so nice! One of the nicest people we've met!! Even though we were way past the Check-in time, an envelope with our key was waiting for us on the door. Our bed was extremely large and super comfortable. The room also had an unlimited supply of tea, coffee and cream :DD We also didn't have to bring our own hairdryer and adapters which was very handy. It had a lovely lounge and kitchen area with plenty of seating & comfortable sofas. It was good to have the balconies to go out onto. The kitchen had all vital facilities and plenty of cutlery. The bedrooms had ample storage space and wardrobe areas so were great. Overall a lovely clean apartment.

    We absolutely loved everything about this place. It is very close to bus station, train station and super market and lots of restaurants. At the same time, it is not very noisy and very crowded. We had absolute freedom and no interference from the owners/ letting agency. Would definitely recommend this place to my friends - Really enjoyed our sta... what people say » y here the apartment was a great size for the 6 of us. We were met at our apartment by Leah who was very helpful. Location was great Princes Street was within walking distance, comfortable walking shoes a must!     we liked everything. We arrived on Fri 10th May and were made very welcome by Angela. Shown to our lovely room, offered coffee and Angela gave us lot's of information on places to go, eat etc. It was great not having to use the car for 3 days as the bus stop not far and took us into Edinburgh. There were many many more choices if you did not want the cook - We chose this because we don't like to be in the center of the big towns we visit. Even if it is a little bit far from the Edinburgh centre, the bus connection is excellent and at a few steps from the house. The Portobello beach is also close, a stunning place, really worth a visit. Loved the host, very nice lady and very pleasant. Loved the stories she told me about the house.     Smart at iQ, Edinburg was a very pleasant surprise for us. Perfectly located: less than 20 min walk to the castle and to the train station, bus stop for the airport right at the corner, restaurants and shops around. The room (studio) was quite big and all equipment you need if you want to prepare something in the house or if you need to wash somet... what people say » hing etc. – like “at home”. A perfect location for someone who wants to visit and move all day and have a proper and comfortable place to sleep. The - The apartment complex itself is very secure. The bedroom was clean, bright and well set out given the limited space. The bathroom, whilst also small had everything you need and unlike many higher rated accommodation I've stayed in hot water was available at all times and at a constant temp. The staff were very friendly and helpful especially to the many foreign visitors there for the festival.

    Great to have so much space. The apartment was very tastefully decorated, clean and comfortable. We had a great time sitting at the widow "people watching" on the royal mile. A perfect location. would highly recommend it - Easy to get to, extremly comfy, clean and lots of little extras you dont get in a hotel.

    The Alpha Guest House was a wonderful place to stay. The bedroom was always clean (we were grateful for the fresh towels every day!), modern yet classy and well furnished. There was a good variety of food for breakfast and the cooked breakfast wasn't too greasy - which was good! Not failing to mention the prompt service of the staff.     We transferred to Stay City after cancelling another hotel nearby which was sub-standard. We loved Stay City - the apartment we got was fantastic, staff couldn't be more helpful in rearranging the double bed into a twin for us or in providing us with maps and information. This was excellently locat - Family with 2 with teenage kids, It was an extremely clean and modern apartment with a well equipped kitchen and furnishings. It appeared to be brand new. Very warm in fact almost to warm we ended up sleeping with the window open even though it was snowing. Comfy double bed with sliding doors separating it from the kids sleeping on the sofa beds in the lounge area. This was much better than having a family room in a hotel.     Having never stayed at this type of lodging we were a little hesitant and unsure what to expect after reading the reviews; however we were pleasantly surprised! We had an amazing view of the castle, and a large spacious room. Location is close to everything Edinburgh has to offer if you don't mind hills, there are lots of taxis nearby as well. A reasonable price for a city location so was not put off going. I was able to be in the same flat as friend I went with. We were able to make use of the kitchen which saved money for eating out.     We were very satisfied with this accomodation, good location, shops and restaurants were very close and we could park our car without problems. We can recommend Tesco for buying food, which is about 200metres far from the house. In the area of the port you can buy fresh fish at the fishmonger´s.     The Dene Guest House was the perfect choice. Not only I was provided with a clean, spacious and beautifully designed en-suite bedroom with great views but I had as well the valuable help of Ilio and Hamish in every possible aspect (from giving advice on how to spend leisure time to pointing me in the right direction whilst I was looking for a job ... what people say » in the city). The owners are extremely friendly yet never intrusive or insistent. I am already planning to go back soon! - Perfect location, close to centre of town. Received a very warm welcome, lovely people running the bed and breakfast in a relaxed, efficient way, they couldn`t have been more helpful. My room was clean, comfortable and had all I needed, the house itself is a beautiful old Edinburgh town house.     We travelled by train as it was much cheaper than staying in the centre of Edinburgh. With trains every 30 minutes until late at night the 10 minutes on the train was well worth it with the Hotel just accross the main road from Newcraighall station. The Cuddie Brea next door had a wide choice menu. - Great location - easy to access from the city bypass. Good price. Easy to travel to city center by train or bus. The first impression was good because it has a quaint relaxing look about it on the outside, that shouted "You're on holiday in Scotland". Parking was easy. The staff was fantastic, helping cheerfully with whatever I asked about.
