Location, cleanliness, facilities, everything as good as could be hoped for at this price. On-site parking a bonus, but check how to find it first ! Easy walking distance to shops and bars, roadworks are a pain, but they'll be over soon enough. Didn't eat in the hotel, but good choice of local restaurants. - Jim

First of all, the location was extraordinary. The sea (Firth of Forth) is just behind the hotel and you wake up, seeing big steamships and small fisher boats on the water. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Especially at the restaurant. The rooms are tidy, have a huge TV, a sweet bathroom with bathtub and shower. Fun fact: the hotel warrants a "good night's sleep". All rooms are noise-reduced designed. Although the hotel is not in the city centre, you don't need to walk at all. Just in - Anonymous

After reading the reviews,we didnt have high expectations but for us we just wanted a place to put downs our heads for the 2nights we were there. But i have to say the room was immaculate and was way above our expectations. We were right over the three sisters pub but the noise didnt bother us.I would highly recommend it to students or anyone up for the nightlife there. - Kristina

A bit pricy for a generic hotel without any character, but clear and comfortable. Convenient for airlines connection..about a 8 pound cabride (10 minutes) from airport. Restaurant generic, American style, very busy. Nothing else around (in an industrial park) so no other eating options. Check with attendant to make sure no groups are booked for dinner, otherwise no dinner for you! - Anonymous

We loved every minute of our stay at South Queensferry. My two children 9yrs and 8yrs want us to book to go back. The staff were so friendly and very helpful when my children couldn't connect to the wifi. Nothing was a bother to the staff, very helpful. My children thought it was Paul's hotel, he was always there to give us help and advice. We would recommend this to our family and friends and we will be back for more. - Anonymous

Stuart was so helpful. He went out of his way to fix up a problem with our booking, carrying all our luggage for us up and down lots of stairs! The apartment we booked was right in the centre of Edinburgh, and was extremely comfortable. At night it was a little noisy, but we were there during the huge Edinburgh Festival period, and normally it would not be a problem. We would definitely stay in the same apartment again. - Anonymous

We transferred to Stay City after cancelling another hotel nearby which was sub-standard. We loved Stay City - the apartment we got was fantastic, staff couldn't be more helpful in rearranging the double bed into a twin for us or in providing us with maps and information. The apartment was well equipped with small amounts of tea and coffee to get you through initially. There's a local shop around the corner and a tesco express / sainsbury's express 2-3 mins walk away. We had a perfect stay at the Apex International Hotel. Our room was fantastic with excellent views of the castle and was very clean and comfortable. I loved how clean it was and how it was just so close to everything, shopping centers, food places and the scenery. It was a little walk from the train station, but it was worth it. The beds were so comfortable and everything in the room was spotless. The decor in the rooms was so unique and very artistic. I loved that they had free wifi, considering the previous hotel I stayed at the night before didn't even want to give us the wifi password. I plan to stay here again this summer. The decor was great in the hotel. Was lovely and the staff friendly and helpful. It felt tremendously homely and the bed was so comfortable. Went for the weekend ghost hunting and the hotel added to the ambience. The bath had jets in it and since Edinburgh is so hilly sorted out our weary legs. Would definately go again and recommend. Finally, the breakfast had a vast selection. Great :) - Vanessa

The efficiency and friendliness of the staff, especially in the dining room. With a Premier Inn you know just what to expect, comfortable beds, cleanliness and welcome, at a reasonable price. The three children like the flexibility of the children's meal options and the breakfasts are very good. We could walk to the Royal Mile inside ten minutes, and the railway station in 25 mins (with bags), although we did use a taxi on arrival, for ease and comfort, and this cost just less than £6.00. Everything. The facilities are complete and well-maintained. Very clean and really good location. We actually extended our stay because we were very happy with the place. Although parking is not available, the parking off restriction after 630pm helps, right at the door step. Will definitely come again here if we ever go to Edinburgh next time - Anonymous
