    Very suprised and impressed with this hotel, well presented and staff were polite and helpful. Room was very clean and quiet at the back of the building. Booked into restaurant for evening meal, everybodys food was excellent and again very friendly staff. Booked purely for location for Edinburgh marathon. - Everything...except the noise outsid... what people say » e the room. We still enjoyed our stay, we complained about the noise on leaving. And we were pleased with the response we received from the staff.

    Very friendly welcome. We were in Edinburgh to see the rugby match and the Granville was one of a few places to stay that didn't demand you booked both the Friday and Saturday nights or else charged more than usual for the Saturday night. It is walking distance to the centre. It was comfortable and quiet. Everything we needed for short stay on the city. - Staff very friendly and helpful, willing to provide anything we needed. Room fairly large with comfortable bed. Excellent breakfast in lovely front room. Good location near canal and we could walk into city in 20 mins.

    We stayed at 2 bedroomed apartment at 7 Johnson terrace! Location, location, location - castle, royal mile & grassmarket on you door step! In easy reach of local bars & restaurants plus sightseeing bus stop 2 minute walk away! The apartment itself was lovely! Relaxing living room & comfy beds! Would definitely recommend for - We stayed in apartment 11 on the third floor. The view was incredible of St. Giles Cathedral. The location superb two blocks from the castle. Many restaurants and shops on the royal mile. Many tourists but inside the apartment calm and relaxing. A bit of noise at night as shops and restaurants were cleaning up and ghost tours ending but by 11pm all went quiet until about 7am. We enjoyed our stay as it was close to everything including Waverly train station.

    After reading the reviews,we didnt have high expectations but for us we just wanted a place to put downs our heads for the 2nights we were there.But i have to say the room was immaculate and was way above our expectations.     We travelled by train as it was much cheaper than staying in the centre of Edinburgh. With trains every 30 minutes until late at night the 10 minutes on the train was well worth it with the Hotel just accross the main road from Newcraighall station. Having stayed at several Premier Inns it was veyr much as we have come to expect with a good size r... what people say » oom and a very comfortable bed. The Cuddie Brea next door had a wide choice menu. - Great location - easy to access from the city bypass. Good price. Easy to travel to city center by train or bus. The first impression was good because it has a quaint relaxing look about it on the outside, that shouted "You're on holiday in Scotland". Parking was easy. The staff was fantastic, helping cheerfully with whatever I asked about.

    Very comfortable rooms, great people.During our holidays we had an accident. We accidentally caused a hole in the plasterboard wall. The maintainer came immediately and he did not ruin our holidays, as he came to repair it the day we left.     The Merchiston Residence is fantastic and I just can't fault it. The building is beautiful inside and out. Furnishings and fittings all very high quality and every detail has been thought through, making for a relaxing, convenient and luxurious stay. For my next trip I would not consider staying anywhere else!     The staff was excellent especially Claudia-who was exceedingly helpful in finding a tour for us to the Highlands and Loch Ness last minute. The tour left very early and she arranged for an early breakfast even though they weren't open for breakfast yet.     There is NO better place to stay. The staff is simply wonderful... Especially Harvey! This is the most ideal location.. You are by everything! It made my hop on hop off tour kind of pointless because of the fact you are that close to everything...and the flats were fantastic!! The one on Blair st is updated and a bit modern while the ones on High... what people say » St have more of that historic charm. I stayed an extra day because I enjoyed myself so much. They are very accommodating, helpful, and considerate. - 1) Location for sight-seeing. 2) Facilities included kitchen and washing machine in apartment. The kitchen was well-equipped for its purpose as a travel accommodation. 3) Separate bedroom, so if you travel with someone whose sleep schedule is different than yours, they will not have to wake you up. I don't know how much the company will accommodate your request, such as for a quiet apartment, but they supposedly do have different properties under their management, so it's worthwhile to ask.

Went the extra mile and even offered to seek availability in local restaurants. The hotel and room were nicely furnished, very clean and well maintained. The breakfast (which you specify the night before) was very nice. There was also free parking available right next to the guest house, which was fantastic.
