    This hotel is like my view of an old hotel should be steeped in history and splendour. It was a pleasure the rooms are not modern although they do have the touches like the plasma tv and modern bathroom. Overall I would not change anything about the hotel it was perfect.     we liked everything. We arrived on Fri 10th May and were made very welcome by Angela. Shown to our lovely room, offered coffee and Angela gave us lot's of information on places to go, eat etc. It was great not having to use the car for 3 days as the bus stop not far and took us into Edinburgh. There were many many more choices if you did not want the cook - We chose this because we don't like to be in the center of the big towns we visit. Even if it is a little bit far from the Edinburgh centre, the bus connection is excellent and at a few steps from the house. The Portobello beach is also close, a stunning place, really worth a visit. Loved the host, very nice lady and very pleasant. Loved the stories she told me about the house.     Very clean, very smart and I would thoroughly recommend. I travelled with my two boys (11 and 12) for the Open at Muirfield and was great for access to Edinburgh Waverley whilst being right next to Calton Hill and 15 mins from Arthur's Seat (bottom not top) for the great views of Edinburgh. - The apartment was an excellent choice for our stay in ... what people say » Edinburgh.     Fantastic apartment in a great location, close to the main bars and shops etc. Someone came and met us at the apartment to show us around, how to use the heating, oven etc. The apartment had 3 bedrooms upstairs with 8 single beds then down a spiral staircase to the huge living space, kitchen and patio doors to an outside decking area.     The basement apartment was nice, cosy and warm. It was also quiet - but it depends on your neighbours. The bed was comfortable and what is important when it's cold - heating was on :) Everything we needed was there.     Starting from travel from airport to apartment, we got a bus from airport which dropped us on Princess Street and the apartment was hardly 4-5 minutes’ walk. Even with luggage and young kids, it was easy to manage to reach from princess street to Queens Street where apartment was located. We were immediately assisted by a very friendly person on the other side of the intercom. When we got into the apartment, it took our breath away. It is absolutely stunning. Everything was perfect. I will always stay there when visiting Edinburgh. It is highly recommended for self catering. Cannot get better. We loved it!

    The apartment was simply amazing! Everything that one needs for a few days was there. A complimentary choice of coffee and tea was included. Also there was a milk box in the fridge. The apartment was spacious, clean and very modern. Within the walking distance from the center.
