    The Alpha Guest House was a wonderful place to stay. The bedroom was always clean (we were grateful for the fresh towels every day!), modern yet classy and well furnished. There was a good variety of food for breakfast and the cooked breakfast wasn't too greasy - which was good! Not failing to mention the prompt service of the staff. We would recommend it - The room was spacious, clean and furnished to a good standard. Our hosts were very friendly and obliging. The breakfasts were excellent and piping hot served quickly. Bus services to and from central Edinburgh right on the doorstep. Would definitely recommend the guest house to our friends

    What a fabulous Guest House. In a true Scottish Manner I was met at the door and made to feel absolutely welcome. The staff were very professional and friendly and couldn't do enough for us, especially at breakfast. Our breakfast was a true Scottish munch - very well presented and not thrown together.     This hotel is like my view of an old hotel should be steeped in history and splendour. It was a pleasure the rooms are not modern although they do have the touches like the plasma tv and modern bathroom. Overall I would not change anything about the hotel it was perfect.     We travelled by train as it was much cheaper than staying in the centre of Edinburgh. With trains every 30 minutes until late at night the 10 minutes on the train was well worth it with the Hotel just accross the main road from Newcraighall station. Having stayed at several Premier Inns it was veyr much as we have come to expect with a good size r... what people say » oom and a very comfortable bed. The Cuddie Brea next door had a wide choice menu. - Great location - easy to access from the city bypass. Good price. Easy to travel to city center by train or bus. The first impression was good because it has a quaint relaxing look about it on the outside, that shouted "You're on holiday in Scotland". Parking was easy. The staff was fantastic, helping cheerfully with whatever I asked about.

    we liked everything. We arrived on Fri 10th May and were made very welcome by Angela. Shown to our lovely room, offered coffee and Angela gave us lot's of information on places to go, eat etc. It was great not having to use the car for 3 days as the bus stop not far and took us into Edinburgh. There were many many more choices if you did not want the cook - We chose this because we don't like to be in the center of the big towns we visit. Even if it is a little bit far from the Edinburgh centre, the bus connection is excellent and at a few steps from the house.     Very clean, very smart and I would thoroughly recommend. I travelled with my two boys (11 and 12) for the Open at Muirfield and was great for access to Edinburgh Waverley whilst being right next to Calton Hill and 15 mins from Arthur's Seat (bottom not top) for the great views of Edinburgh. - The apartment was an excellent choice for our stay in ... what people say » Edinburgh.     Starting from travel from airport to apartment, we got a bus from airport which dropped us on Princess Street and the apartment was hardly 4-5 minutes’ walk. Even with luggage and young kids, it was easy to manage to reach from princess street to Queens Street where apartment was located. Apartment is spacious, big 2 rooms, big living room with window opening on Queens Street and nice kitchen. Cleanliness, nice c - When we arrived, I had my login in number incorrect. We were immediately assisted by a very friendly person on the other side of the intercom. When we got into the apartment, it took our breath away. It is absolutely stunning. Everything was perfect. I will always stay there when visiting Edinburgh. It is highly recommended for self catering. Cannot get better. We loved it!
