    Superb location with hotel tucked into the side of a green hill overlooking the sea - very peaceful and serene ! All rooms are located at ground level (brilliant if stairs are a problem) and our room was very comfortable and well equipped. Staff were very friendly and always on hand to help.     Beautiful surroundings. Peaceful and relaxing atmosphere.     This was the second time staying at this hotel. The owners are friendly and courteous and the facilities are what you would expect of a hotel with a much higher star rating. We stayed in a self catering room on this occasion and found it to have everything we needed for a wonderful stay.     The accommodation was very pleasant in the cottage room but i felt it wasn't very private, i also thought we had booked accommodation in the actual hotel and as i am waiting for a knee replacement the steps were difficult. The food and staff in the bar were good but we were not able to book a table in the bar and it was too crowded to relax and ... what people say » enjoy our food, the tables were crammed in to every available space. - The staff were extremely friendly and very helpful - we were made to feel at home as soon as we arrived. The ales and the food in the pub (including the breakfasts) were absolutely fabulous! The room was super, really spacious and very clean and comfortable, excellent en suite too. A lovely spot to stay in and we would happily return and would highly recommend the pub to anyone intending to stop in that area.

The view and sound of the sea from our room. The location is brilliant for walking the coast path to beautiful bays, and only 15 minutes drive to Salcombe.     Prior to our stay all our questions were answered fully by emails from the proprietors. When we arrived we were very impressed by the ambience and feel of the hotel. Our stay was enhanced by the friendly, helpful and efficient proprietors, the massive comfortable bed in a delightfully airy, clean room, not to mention the most marvellous breakfasts.... what people say » One of the best!!! - Fabulous, well decorated, bright room. Bottled water and fresh milk in the fridge. Separate shower and bath. Flatscreen TV with freeview and dvd player (range of dvd's in th room). I was helped to find a restaurant in the evening. Breakfast was superb, in a beautiful morning room. Enormous, very comfortable bed.

    The catering for the function we attended at the Hotel was really excellent. - Although we were only staying overnight the comfort, cleanliness and ambience of the hotel was great. We had a lovely evening meal and breakfast in a beautiful dining room - we would hope to come again.

    We had booked another hotel for the night, a 2 star country hotel with very good reviews and in a peaceful location to find while in Devon on the day of our stay the original hotel had double-booked so letsbookhotel.com found us The 4 star Belmont as a replacement. The Belmont is spotless and the staff are excellent, can not do enough to be of service. - I came for a break-away from a stressful life. It was perfect for comfort, always interesting view from the warmth of the big lounges, and the easy access to the enchanting Town. And the numerous staff were so very discreet with their cheerful friendliness.
